Delirium (495), Santa Cruz, California, USA Aug 20, 2006 Updated: Sep 7, 2006Bottle. Pours a moderate brown with a bit of white head. Aroma is fairly weak, and of malt. Flavor is similar, and slightly sweet. One of the better widely-available mass-produced beers. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Aug 20, 2006 Draft at Coyote Pub. Similar to Michalob Amber Bock. Not a bad beer condidering the choices I had that night. Next time I will have been whiddled down to Heinekin Light!!!!!! Fantomas23 (463), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 20, 2006 This is something I’ve seen so often that I felt compelled to try it at the pub so that I wouldn’t need to buy a six pack of it (for while I was compelled out of compulsion to try it, I knew that a six pack would just sit unfinished in the fridge taking up room). So now I’ve had it and it was about what I expected: thin, kind of sweet and not much else. Perhaps it really, really wants to be a bock (and it’s more bock than Amberbock) but it just doesn’t get there. lorideana (1), USA does not count Aug 17, 2006 This German-influenced beer is brewed in Texas and is only available to other states as an import. Shiner began because of the Germans who moved to Texas and missed their heavier style beer. ROGUE (627), Newark, Delaware, USA Aug 15, 2006 Pour a brown color with a decent head. Thin and light for a dark beer. Mild malt flavor with some bitterness. Another O.K. beer from Shiner at a very good price. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Aug 14, 2006 Pretty good for a common commercial brew. Good dark color and decent thick flavor. Good for being in college (i.e. broke). jrmac (210), USA Aug 9, 2006 Deffinately one of the better mass produced american in the market. This is the best selling 6 pack where I work. It is malty all the way through with a nice aftertaste. Good stuff. incutrav (576), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA Aug 8, 2006 Pretty Decent, but why is it called Shiner BOCK when its a dark lager really. Fairly decent taste, similar to the Lienies Creamy Dark. I might drink in a pinch, but the shite is made in Texas for god sakes, ack.
