Tasted in Amarillo TX. This is nothing to write home about. The aroma is of darker sweet malts. It does not have any hop character what so ever. It is a very light beer, that is pretty watery. The plus is that there is very light roasted notes. In the dark lager style but could have more body and a higher abv to be a bock. It’s the dark beer for Bud/Coors/Miller Light fans.

Aroma is kinda malty with a some hops and a yeasty smell. Pretty earthy and overall pretty decent smell. Appearance is a dark amber/brown with an off white head that disappears. Flavor is kinda hoppy and spiked with something that I don’t know how to describe. Some malty stuff too. Goes down decent. Overall, it satisfies and then gives you a little extra to enjoy. Good stuff.

Nothing too special about this brew. Most micros give hints of flavours throughout, or a nice consistent flavour. This beer delivers neither, close to a bud product.

Bottle - I am not a fan of many dark beers, and this was no different. I was not impressed.

I had no idea this was so dark, which makes it a bit more intriguing, but doesn’t particularly make it taste any better. Smells metallic. Tastes faintly of malt and finishes with slight bitterness. Better than a macro, but not by much.

Notes: 12 fl oz bottle. An excellent beer to have with any BBQ. Goes down very smooth for a dark beer. A: Dark brown. Firm head. S: Smells of cereal and other grain. T: A hint of malt, cereal, and grian that is not to overpowered and not to subtle; Very small bitter taste. Acts like a pale lager with characteristics of a dark lager. D: Excellent drinkability. Very smooth. Low bitterness for a dark beer. (Not a real Bock)

Overall Impression: A pretty standard malty lager, just enough character to be enjoyable, but not enough to be considered anything special.
