2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
This is the first Bock Iíve ever tried and I think I like the style, but I canít say this was a premium example of it. It was certainly passable, but didnít have much in the way of taste or mouth-feel. I enjoyed the maltiness that was present, and thatís always a sure way to up my rating of a beer. Still, it wasnít as good a beer as Iíve had in the past.
I will try the style again, must definitely, but I doubt Iíd try Shiner Bock unless every other style of beer I like were unavailable. So that does mean Iíd give it another go; itís not bad, just really, really low on my cravings list.

It finishes lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Grainy, light. OK in a pinch.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours dark amber from bottle, little head. Slight malty aroma. Tastes clean, carbonated, watery with distant malt flavors reminiscent of real beer. Hops are indistinct. Gassy on the palate with medium body courtesy of the adjuncts. Overall its a dark American resuscitation lager, hopefully the last one Iíll have.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
At Houston airport. From the bottle. I've had before many times. Slight malty caramel notes with slight hop notes. Medium light body. Smooth flavor throughout. Easy to drink. Just enough flavors in this beer to make it moderately satisfying.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rich malty flavor like bread and sweet like honey. A bit of hops to support the malt and sweetness. Finish is not that great. Good session beer at 4.4%.
