3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled. An amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of alcohol and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, as well as lighter notes of alcohol, bread, and sulphur. Not good for a bock.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. Sweetish, malty caramelish nose. Medium body dominated by roasted malt and again some caramel. Sweetish, but not overwhelmingly so. Almost no bitterness. According to German tradition this is far from a Bock, but for an American macro it’s not really too bad. 200306

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottled@The 1st Vaasa CS/ES beer session (thanks ER). Dark ambery brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is bready malts, caramel malts and mild strange sweetness. Flavour is caramel and bready malts along with some papery notes as well as herbs and mild bitterness. Not that offensive, just boring.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Nut brown. Rather thin, some soft bitterness. Not a bock by any means, but a lot better than the mega lagers.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Amber color; big head. Light aroma, stronger taste, anyway with anything else than caramel; a bit metallic and some residual sweetness. Too simple.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
At the time I drank this in Texas in the 80s it was the best beer you could get there, and I enjoyed it. Thankfully there is more available now. No reason to go back to this one.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
On tap. A dark amber to copper colored beer with a small light beige head soon disappearing. Rather butterscotchy aroma, with some nuts and dried fruits. Coffee grit too. Flavorwise it’s pretty much the same, way too buttery. Medium body, too carbonated. Even the finish has lots of butterscotch, leaving little room for anything else. What a mess. 130825
