1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: MAR 5, 2006 Bottle. Thanks to Ian for bringing this back from Texas. This is thin and boring, and doesn’t really taste like a bock. Slightly nutty at the start of theflavour, but quickly fades away to nothing. Pretty smooth and flavourless.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark ruby color with average looking head. The aroma has a light cherry note with a caramel malt end. Flavor is about the same, nothing overly complex here, but a straight forward bock. Sweet end and lightly sticky. I couldn't ask from more with a mass-produced bock.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
The caramel color is a yellow-orange when hold it up to the light. Easy-going malt flavor that is a smooth drink ... flavor lingers nicely. Not for the hops lovers, but a good every-day beer.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not much to talk about. Pours little to no head, light brown. Nose and taste very muted making it highly drinkable. Taste has mild sweet chocolate notes, not creamy but could improve hugely if it had some. Very thin but not terribly watery. This is a great standby at bars in TX when nothing else is available as it easily beats domestic extract lagers.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aware of how common this one is, and have seen it and ignored it before on voyages stateside, what better way to finally tick it off than at an airport bar in Texas, having eliminated all other winners !?!
Tap at Buffalo Wild Wings, Houston Hobby, 22/05/13.
Dark chestnut brown with a medium sized beige head that retains well - this is about as good as this beer gets !
Nose is very thin, dark fruit, malt, a hint of toffee.
Taste carries a little more depth and comprises toffee, dark malt, dark fruits, light spice.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Kind of panned out as I’d expected, muted flavours, sub par fayre but I’d take this over the ubiquitous airport macro swill no problems.
