Smelling this beer gives me a headache. Poured brown in color with a hint of amber. Medium off-white head diminished quickly but lasted throughout. No lacing. Clear. Very sparkling. Flavor is lightly bitter. Tastes malty and salty. Very unbalanced toward malts. Light body. Thin, watery texture. Lively carbonation. Long malty finish. Overall, this is crap. Toasted malt aroma. Overly carbonated, overly sweet, overly watery. Faint finish. I used to realy like this stuff, but it doesn’t hold up. Nuffield (2749), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Aug 12, 2002 This was served up in such a cold frosty glass that the bottom centimeter or two of the beer actually froze and then floated up to the top before melting. At that temperature, there was virtually no flavor. But it was a good antidote for the BBQ that I was having. Nice appearance, and not a bad beer to drink, but even when it warmed up, there wasn’t much going on here. (on tap, Sonny Bryan’s BBQ, Richardson, TX) harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA

Just another bad tasting amber lager in my opinion, and the excessive bitterness part is way off. IrishBoy (2732), Bakersfield, California, USA

Color is amber gold and has a medium head that leaves no lace. Taste is sweet malt with adjuncts and some of those soapy hops. The finish is a wonderful maltiness. Went well with baked ziti and garlic bread but this one is rather average.
