Its taste is caramel with a mild hops. Goes down smooth without a heavy feeling. PERFECT for a long day and time to relax. Ive had it tap and bottled. Tap is slightly better, but bottled is good. Im drinking one right now as we speak.

A beer that offers excellent taste and drinkability, yet is more enjoyable when savored rather then sessioned. Great appearance, weaker aroma. Full bodied taste without excessive maltiness, clean finish. Mild hoppiness comes through every now and again, but not consistently present in taste. Very smooth and surprisingly drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Disappointed after hearing a lot about this beer. And it’s classified as a Vienna, and not a bock. Pours medium brown with immediate head that fades to nothing. Aroma is extremely light, cola, malt, brown bread. Taste is also light (and mouthfeel watery), tastes like a watered down Newcastle. Not impressed.

Pours smber/orange. Smell is lightly malty. Some peach and a metallic smell. Flavor is lighter version of smell. It’s watery. Ok on a hot day.

Thin light head, metallic aroma. Faint hint of hops and a non existent taste. Just because it’s from Texas doesn’t mean it’s good.

This beer has a really yeasty and general malty smell that hits you hard, and the appearance is a clear brown color with only a white ring on top of the liquid. The taste is quite sour and slightly sweet, and the palate combines a light body, thin and slick texture, abrupt finish, and an average carbonation.

Bottle from mixed six pack. Pour has a red brown color with little head. Aroma has malts, light sweetness, and dusty grains. Mouth feel is medium light and the carbonation much lower than there other beers. Flavor has malted sweetness, grains, and a light hit of hops.

Bottle at airport. Aroma and tastes of light caramel, malt, earth, cardboard, and slight skunkyness. Polar opposite of my first Texas brew a few days ago

Not as bad as I remembered. The malts & hops aren't skunky (hooray?), and the aroma is actually kinda nice. An acceptable alternative to the other piss beers available everywhere in Texas, but still quite far from being objectively good. It is pretty filling though, dunno how people can kill an entire 6pk of this stuff. I'm sure Shiner would taste better with a Vortex neck. They should work on that.

12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a glass. Aroma: Sour yeast, malty. Pleasant, but nothing in particular stands out to me. Appearance: Dark, translucent burnt orange. Soapy head lingers a little, but is gone after a minute or two. Taste: Malty. Not really any hop character. A slight metallic-y twinge. Palate: Thin, somewhat watery. It’s there, and then it’s gone. Overall: This isn’t a bad beer. It’s not a superb beer either. I’ll choose it over the macrotrash any day, because it’s better, but it’s not as flavorful or as full of character as it could be.
