Pretty good beer, to thick for me though. A little to malty as well, could have used a little bit more hop bitterness.

Decent malt taste but a little thin.

Nice copper color. Decent flavor with a smooth maltyness. A requirement in Texas lite bock beer drinking.

Rating 1062, from the bottle. This is a drinkable beer that appears to have a strong following from my Texas friends. They are just as passionate about this beer as my brother is when he proclaims that Bud Light is the beer that gawd would drink. Anyways, had from the bottle provided by my employer while at a happy hour for the meet and greet with my advisor. Skunky malty with just a hint of malts. The taste was moderate with some strong malts, roasted with just a bit of cream. Watery and thin with a fairly strong skunkyness to it. Finishes dry and slightly bitter. As I said before, drinkable and pleasant.

Sweet caramel malt aroma is simple but appealing. Clear, dark copper-brown with decent off-white head that recedes to lightly cover. Caramel malts dominate with a light herbal bitterness and some finishing dark fruity esters. Light-medium body could stand to be a touch more rich especially as this is somewhat still in the mouth. Still, it was nice to re-visit a sentimental favourite from many year’s ago. Bottle. Thanks, Kawa!

As my first beer rated, I have to give Shiner Bock a positive review, thought not stellar b/c it is a good beer. From casual drinking to heavy drinking, Shiner is a good all around beer that beats the hell out of cheap beer and stands out among other American brewers enough to give it praise.

I couldnt visit texas for the second time and not have a shiner bock, so i grabbed one on tap at a TGI fridays. i was impressed with the deep amber body and the nice white head, it looked like a real nice brew...the aroma was kind of musty, along with plenty of malts. smooth and sweet wth just a bit of hops at the end. i can see why this is so popular, as it is way better than a BMC, but in texas, just as easy to get.

A very good session beer, and a great gateway beer, but not really as good as I had thought or hoped for. Pours a deep ruby red. No real hops or barley in this one. Some carmel notes, almost a candy like finish. Thin and good.
