My favority Bock beer. Best when from the tap. Can be a bit heavy with medium malt flavor. One of several fine Spoetzl brews.

A Texas original! Served in almost every restaurant in Texas, for good reason. It is amber colored with a bit of carbonation and a slightly sweet aroma. The surprise is in the taste because you expect a sweet and heavy flavor, but find instead a relatively smooth brew. This is do to the fact that it is a original creation (1909) of Kosmos Spoetzel’s mixture of a Bock and a Lager. It is one of my all time favorites and is drinkable Winter through Summer. To combat a slightly flat flavor when poured in a stein, drink it right out of the longneck bottle (shorties are also available, if you can find them).

Great beer. It seems that people like to compare this beer to Fat Tire. I think this beer is good but not as good as the mighty Fat Tire.

One of my favorite ’cheap’ brews. Rich amber color with tan head, very flavorful aroma. Not heavy like many bock/darks, does not have bitter aftertaste. Slightly nutty taste on first sips.

This is my favorite beer for drinking with friends. The flavor is great and being from Texas theres nothing better than Shiner...I started drinking this beer because at most bars it is the only good beer to get.

I absolutely love this beer. I am concerned that many have rated it low. Am I missing something or do I just have the opposite taste as everyone else?
