Mild chocolate and caramel flavors but little hop flavor. Thin sweetness and mild carbonation. Not impressed. Aurelius (2663), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 4, 2001 Appearance is great-- rich amber color and angry fizzy head. Cool folksy bottle. The aroma was a little rude. The flavor would seem to lend itself to Mexican food. A little (rice?) sweet and a certain straw taste. Poorly hopped. Not a bad beer, but it’s not going to set the world afire, either. That said, there ain’t a dang thing ’bock’ about this beer. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA

Aroma is slightly smokey with a sweetness that is striking. The body is thin but better than BMC stuff by far. Nothing offensive in the flavor. Pretty standard stuff. Nothing exciting, nothng offensive. argo0 (7044), Washington DC, USA

Pleasant malty aroma, flavor is fairly neutral, a bit caramelly. Slight bitterness comes through in the aftertaste. goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 5, 2005 Tap. Clear dark brown. Aroma was all malt. Dark fruit, caramel, slightly sweet but while those are normally good it wasn’t there in enough quantity to make it rate well. Flavor was malty, light notes of caramel. Liight bodied and clean. paulmetzger (152), Pocatello, Idaho, USA

Mild malt flavor with some bitterness. Another O.K. beer from Shiner at a very good price. kidmartinek (1004), austin, Texas, USA
