COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Is a distinctive, rich, full-flavored, deep amber-colored beer with an inviting smooth taste without excessive bitterness.

Bottle. Dark amber with whitish head. Not much in the nose but some hop and malt. Tastes rather bland for the style.

Draft. I’ve had this many times, but figure it’s time to actually rate it. Pours an amber/brown color with a small head that stays around. Smells mildly of malts and straw. It has a lot more body than the typical macros it tends to compete with...a bit of caramel maltiness, some understated hops. The real reason for its popularity is the clean, easy-drinking finish. This one sure won’t blow anyone away, but as a substitute for BMC Lite at a bar or concert, it’s a good step forward.

Amber pour. non-existent head. tastes more carbonated than it looks. Tastes of sweet malt.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2007 Re-rate11-19-07 bottle. Funky malt aroma. Little to no real flavor. Watery and bland. Better than Bud Light - but nothing special. Thin brown color with no lasting head. Extra points overall because it is a Texas beer.

I have had worse beers. Their best piece of work, although that doesn’t say much.

This stuff is actually pretty good. Its not high end, but for heavy beer drinking it does the job. Dark sweet and malty, it goes down easy. Too thin and definetly has a mass produced blandness, but whos complaining.

i dont know what to say. i know this beer is nothing special. its not terrible though either. it does have some flavor, although definitely not a true bock. its a pretty good beer to buy if you plan on drinking a fair amount. Last night i had three celebrator doppelbock, which is one of my favorites. feeling a bit drunk the flavor started to become a little much to me. so i grabbed a shiner and it went down very smoothly. well all six of them did actually.
