A surprisingly tasty beer from a larger american producer. Good refreshing drink for the summer.

Appearance- dark mahogany brown. Small thin head that disappeared quickly. Just about no lacing. Smell- clean, light, biscuity. Taste- almost nothing going on here. I struggled to identify any character other than feint maltiness (and a tiny bit of sweetness). Mouthfeel- thin, ultra light bodied, watery. Overall- barely even OK. Disappointing. For home consumption? Absolutely not! For mass consumption? Fine (i.e. tailgating, BBQ’s), especially if it’s hot outside and the beer is ice cold (to help hide its deficiencies). Cheers!

Draft. Poured an amber brown with a razor thin white top. Taste of caramel malts, slight fruit and a metallic finish. Medium carbonation, thin body. Meh

From the pour I got a nice amber colored beer with good clarity and an average two finger just off white head. The head fades to a wispy thin layer but a quick swirl will keep a small cap of foam on top. Lacing is very slick and minimal. The aroma is mildly sweet with some light hints of caramel and toasted malt back by grainy and light bready maltiness. Hop presence here is very light and sort of earthy/leafy. Just as the nose would suggest there is a mild sweetness from the light caramel and bready maltiness. A touch of raw grain or husk is also noted in the mix. Hops mix in here too and add a light balance of earthy hop bitterness. Its easy medium body and level carbonation is a bit light for a Bock but very easy to drink.

Not horrible beer for the standard beers. Ie I'll drink this before Budweiser. Sweet flavor slight yeast aroma. No head. In general skip it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. The aroma is notably caramel, cola, toasted bread, and roasted nuts - all in relatively low, mellow amounts. The light, fizzy head is active, but unstable and eventually reduces to a thin ring with a couple stay bubble packs floating on the surface. The taste is a medium sweet and a very light bitter. The carbonation on the tongue is a small amount, prickly and near flat, which gives the thin texture a smooth quality. It has a medium-light body that finishes with a roasted nut, toasted bread, and light toasted caramel touch. The aftertaste is a bit grassy and a bit soapy, but generally clean.

Bottle from Amarillo liquor store. The only local beer there. Tastes good. Like a primo version of Dos XX amber. I am pleasantly surprised! That is certainly the benefit of low expectations! I would definitely drink again if was stuck in Amarillo and I could find nothing better.

The brew is amber in color. There is no lacing on the glass. The head disappeared fairly quickly. It had a mild aroma with a bit of caramel, but not much else was discernible. There was lemon and caramel in the taste. It was smooth and just a tad on the dry side.

Pours a deep amber color with off-white head. Light caramel malt notes on the nose, not much else; same for the palate. Just an easy drinking bock.

Shiner Bock has a rich taste. I enjoyed being able to taste the various aspects and ingredients of the beer. It is one of my favorites.
