Poured from a 12 oz. bottle. Has a bronze color. Smell is of malts, some nuts. Taste is malty, bready, a touch of caramel. Overall a pretty good beer.

Not bad, being from Texas I’ve had this beer for years. Funny though, I remember years ago Shiner was sort of a joke, in recent years they’ve risen to become a "top shelf" beer.

On-tap at $4 a pint. Appearance: Brown. Plenty of clarity. Not much head, and virtually zero lacing. Looks alright, I guess. Smell: Malty. Slightly roasty. No hop aroma, really. Just has a cheap sort of smell, but it’s not off-putting or anything like that. Again, alright. Taste/feel: For a third time, it’s okay. It has a thin feel with a moderate prickly carbonation. Caramel malts and the like with a slight roastiness as well. Sweet, not bitter at all... mediocre, and pretty uninteresting. Short review for a beer that doesn’t require a long one. It’s a beer that... just... it is what it is. Affordable, decent, nothing-at-all-special beer. Sweet, quite thin, a good amount of carbonation, not very interest piquing. Probably wouldn’t buy it again.

Little bit of malty aroma. Artificial sweetener type of taste along with genuine malt taste. Not bad but certainly not excellent.

Mostly a caramelized malt aroma and flavor. Low carbonation that died fast. Maybe a bit of a caramel color taste instead of actual caramelized malt. Wouldn't buy again but drinkable if need be. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not bad for a flagship Texas beer. On draft at the summer mummers. Decent overall beer but nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bue à la pression. Couleur ambrée foncée. Notes maltées, pointe de caramel sur la finale. Peu de sucre, manque à peine de corps.

Started out nice...pretty clean amber pour, some white lace. Aroma of malt, corn, spice, water and alcohol. When I drink it, though, it tastes ok on the tongue but turns into an unintriguing blend of water, metal, malt and corn. It could be the bottle but it isn’t something I plan on testing with another bottle.

Tap. Pours clear bronze. Little head. Couldn't get much aroma. Some bock sweetness. Weird aftertaste. Very mild.

Pours a nice brown with pillowy head that quickly recedes. Minimal aroma so not much to talk about there. I think this beer is often served too cold and that obscures its taste and texture ... I definitely let some of the chill off from pulling it out of the display case at the package store and drink it cool, but not cold. This beer has a nice malty flavor with a hint of hoppiness. I would love it to be a bit thicker and maltier though. The mouth feel is very nice ... smooth and satiny. Again, serve it too cold and the taste and mouth feel attributes disappear.
