A few centuries ago, during the cold winter months, farmhands in Europe brewed a ‘seasonal provision’ Farmhouse Ale to be enjoyed once spring rolled around. In the farmlands of Shiner, TX that tradition lives on. Which is why our tribute to this style uses Golding, Sterling and Meridian hops for a sweet yet lightly spiced flavor. Our incredibly refreshing farmhouse ale bears the name of the farm to market road just to the south of where our brewery has proudly stood for over 100 years.

Wheat and farmhouse aroma with a sweet vineous component that’s like Chardonnay. Clear medium pale yellow with a white head. A little pepper spice, coriander and funk with a good malt body. Low carbonation and the head dies quickly. Finishes slightly sweet with lasting Saison flavor. Easy to drink and refreshing, this is good warm weather beer.

Not a very good saison. A bit too carbonated and had too much spice. Wish it was a little bit more mellow.

Had this at Bella Milano in Edwardsville, not normally a place known for beer. Twelve ounce bottle. A hazed pour with a nice big white head. A decent but light aroma of fruit with a tiny hint of farmhouse funk. Light fruit with pale malts were tasted. Some buttery effects. This was decent and over priced there (almost $10). A tick is a tick.

On tap at an Old Chicago. Pours a near orangish gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of flora with supporting sweet citrus and backing sweet grains. Flavor starts with sweet citrus and potpourri and has a sweet grain finish.

Alittle sour and citrus. Clear and clean with a taste of wheat. Pretty good. A little flat on draft ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy straw color with a foamy white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of citrus, banana, biscuits, and soured fruits. Tastes a bit sour. Yeasty, citrus, earthy, dirty, and a bit of spice. Good carbonation. A dry bitter finish.

I’m glad I didn’t look this beer up before I drank it, I probably wouldn’t have tried it if I did. Had it last night at my sisters, she bought it because she liked the label. Aroma was citrus and hops. A very refreshing beer that tasted great on a warm evening.

Tap flight at Flying Saucer San Antonio. Light golden pour, split by white head. Horse blanket and bubblegum aroma with some hops. Taste is very similar -- and better than previous reviewers are giving credit for. Another one that if you slam a vogue label brewery label on the bottle, people will be raving and ISO. This is Shiner, though, so no love from the beer dorks. Honestly I had low expectations and this is the best beer I have ever had from this brewery and one of my favorites tonight.

22 oz bottle. Golden pour. White head. Some floral sweetness but kind of watery weak sauce.

Tasted from 12oz brown bottle into a shaker glass. It poured a clear amber colour with weak white foam. Faint aromas of grain, sweet malts, earthy and flowery hops and even fainter ale yeast esters. Flavour was caramel, tangy hops balance and apricot fruit roll-ups. Medium body and carbonation, some sticky sweetness in the aftertaste. Nothing like a classic saison, but slightly more complex than Shiner Bock amber lager. An interesting step in the right direction, but I liked their Wild Hare Pale Ale better.
