A few centuries ago, during the cold winter months, farmhands in Europe brewed a ‘seasonal provision’ Farmhouse Ale to be enjoyed once spring rolled around. In the farmlands of Shiner, TX that tradition lives on. Which is why our tribute to this style uses Golding, Sterling and Meridian hops for a sweet yet lightly spiced flavor. Our incredibly refreshing farmhouse ale bears the name of the farm to market road just to the south of where our brewery has proudly stood for over 100 years.

Pours a clear yellow color with a white head. The aroma is full of hay, grain, yeast and orange citrus. The flavor is not as good as the aroma. I get a ton of grain and hay notes, as well as a little bit of citrus and some yeast. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Color is a clear light gold with white head. Nose is an earthy sour with a hint of banana. Taste is the same with a somewhat creamy body. Lacking the complexity and fullness of many saisons, it feels like it tries the same roads but doesn’t go far enough down them.

Bottle. Lightly musty lemon and malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with nice head. Mildly sweet lemon malt and lightly bitter hay flavor. Pretty good - a solid beer.

bottle @ Nobi in Webster .. . pours a mild gold, touches of foam .. . stale corn and 40 year old bandaids .. . light light mouth .. . quick finish .. . an easy session beer, not at all complex, but something i’d drink again if it was in a friends fridge or cooler .. . . i finished your laundry, the ashes are in the fireplace.

bottle. drinkable slight floral aroma. Not a bad beer, the end was a little funky - subdued sour at back end. didn’t know this was a saison though; still drinkable.

Clear dull golden pour with minimal ring of near white head. Smells faintly lemon zesty and black pepper. Flavor is like a very carbonated budweiser but replace corn with wheat. Lemon bitter pith on the finish. Kinda like a slightly watered down version of the style. But overall, not that bad actually.

The aroma is a bit sour at first but it grows on you, with the palate it was surprisingly complex for the relatively light color. It is a Shiner though so that wasn’t too surprising. Overall though, I think I would prefer a regular Shiner Bock.

Tangy, with a hint of sourness. Some fruit and spice notes. Pours a bright gold, with a medium-sized white head. Not bad.

Not a bad seasonal offering. Not much aroma. First taste is spicy fruit..some bitterness at end. Finishes clean.

Pours from the bottle a very pale golden with a distinct amount of carbonation and a medium-dense amount of foam. The aroma hints at a bit of sweet doughy pilsner malt, definite spicy yeast esters which come across as slightly bubble-gum and clove, also a very slight sweet floral hop aroma. Flavor is light pilsner malt followed by a sour and somewhat acidic tang. Bitterness is kept pretty low, and the dry finish is accentuated by the high level of carbonation. I wish I didn’t have to buy a 6-pack just to try it.
