2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle - Pours clear golden with a foamy white head. Nose is yeasty bubble gum, pear, light spicing, and a bit of astringency, almost like subtle rubbing alcohol. Taste has a bit of the astringency as well, though it comes off more like latex or plastic. Lightly spiced pale malt, dusty yeast, and more pear/fruit cocktail on the finish. A bit of the hopping comes through on the finish as well. Soft and smooth in the mouth. I think this one gets unfairly docked because it’s Shiner, but that said it’s pretty unremarkable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pleasant, lightly sweet, light candied aroma -- fruity, honeyish. Bright, light orange-gold, clear; good label, twist off longneck. Lightly tangy, a little astringent, mildly mineral, biscuity at times. Some residual spicy bitterness, but not much. Publix. Fair.

Transparent light gold with very little head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, candylike, similar to Starbursts. Yeasty flavors, sweet bready malts.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. A deep gold body with a long lasting white head. A funky leather nose with some pears. There is also yeasty dough. This tastes of sweet donuts and apple core. There is also some peanuts along with caramel. Lightly funky with some bread crust.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Shiner Farmhouse is a dumbed down version of a Saison, at least compared to every one I’ve ever tried. Aromas of bubble gum, some spices, and grains. Flavor is basically the same but more one the bland side. Can’t get over how much bubble gum comes through, rather odd. Considering Shiner made this, I wasn’t expecting much and am not disappointed. On to the next...

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Had this at Top of the Hops 2013 in the VIP section. It was alright. They were calling it Farmhouse Saison.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Clear light golden pour with a white head. Nice aroma, but it falls off pretty quick after that. Meh.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a crystal clear gold color in the glass. Very bright and appealing. Aroma of some herbs spice and cream. Tasty malt and an odd slight latex flavor in the mix followed by some more spice notes. Overall, its not that bad... Not that great for a Saison but good for a lawnmower type brew. I’ll probably purchase again.

2.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
While this is a spicy and tasty farmhouse style, it lacks some of the robust character I would expect of the style. While this spring seasonal isn't quite robust enough to stand up to the still cold spring days by the fire, the warm hints of an oncoming summer that tease from time to time match we'll with this spicy brew.
