COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A few centuries ago, during the cold winter months, farmhands in Europe brewed a ‘seasonal provision’ Farmhouse Ale to be enjoyed once spring rolled around. In the farmlands of Shiner, TX that tradition lives on. Which is why our tribute to this style uses Golding, Sterling and Meridian hops for a sweet yet lightly spiced flavor. Our incredibly refreshing farmhouse ale bears the name of the farm to market road just to the south of where our brewery has proudly stood for over 100 years.

My favorite beer! Only wish that Shiner would make ths a year-round beer instead of spring seasonal.

Doesnt really taste much like a saison. Fairly boring without great spicy farmhouse tastes that are advertised.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4971) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 21, 2014
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright yellow-golden color with a large creamy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tart and tangy with notes of citrus, yeast and pepper. The flavor was bitter and tart with notes of cardboard, yeast, citrus, pepper and vague spices. Medium length bitter finish of citrus and pepper. Light to medium body. Ok.

Yellow color, puffy white head. Macro lagers notes with an odd and somewhat artificial spiced flavoring. Meh.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2014 Its a decent cheap beer. Found it on sale for $3.68 and I?ll keep buying it as long as the sale lasts. However, as I kept drinking it for a while I quit liking the flavor. Good for a sixer.

Pours orange gold. Smell is lightly funked malt and faint bandaid and alcohol. Taste is crisp dry malt. Like a farmhouse light. Drinkable but not my favorite.

12 ounce bottle. Well, it’s hot as Tejas here in PDX tonight. So I guess this suits. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. A light fruity and yeasty nose. The flavor is mild bread, lemons, some zest, a bit of yeast, this is like a saison-light and is pretty decent.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, Buffalo, NY. Amber with a fast fading white head; herbal aroma; soft in the mouth with a vegatable taste and a sweet grainy body; and a dry herbal finish with a touch of spice. Not bad.
