COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A few centuries ago, during the cold winter months, farmhands in Europe brewed a ‘seasonal provision’ Farmhouse Ale to be enjoyed once spring rolled around. In the farmlands of Shiner, TX that tradition lives on. Which is why our tribute to this style uses Golding, Sterling and Meridian hops for a sweet yet lightly spiced flavor. Our incredibly refreshing farmhouse ale bears the name of the farm to market road just to the south of where our brewery has proudly stood for over 100 years.

12oz picked up a while back at Brewer’s Haven in Boise... Pours with a short lasting white head... little lacing... the brew is slightly hazed pale golden. Nose shows cracker like maltiness along with a lightly spicy element that I associate with clove... a little bit of lemon too, but that could be my mind playing tricks on me. Flavor pretty much mirrors the nose... a bit more clove and a light peachy fruitiness. Overall like a saison "lite"... still pretty drinkable... a good introductory Belgian style

Clear gold pour with a 1 finger, creamy to soapy white head. Aroma is grass, hay, spice, cereal, fruity esters, spicy and citrus hops. Flavor is dusty cereal grain and yeasty bread up front, then some sweet hay, toast, mineral notes and floral, citrus and nice spicy hops with a bite. Light body, oily, but dry feel and medium, but sharp carbonation. Pretty good overall, as it warms it gets a little corny and boozier than it should be, but for the most part it’s a pretty drinkable, slightly brash take on a moderate strength Saison. Probably the best I have had from Shiner.

Clear lightish gold with a thick foamy white head. Nose is dusty and a hint citrusy, with a bit of Pilsen malt and a bit of bread. Taste has a bit more of that bread tone, some dusty hay, some non-bitter orange rind, and an overall note of shiny clean mineral water. Or non-gross plastic. It’s overall okay, a bit under-estery and lacking bite. Like every other Shiner beer. But it’s good to see them try.

2/18/2013. From bottle. Hazy straw yellow with a white head. Bready and malty aromas with light fruit, spices, hay. Very light body and watery with diluted flavors. Many better options out there.

Shiner typically puts out some watery stuff and this is not an exception. However, it does have an interesting smell and taste. A little spice and bitterness on the front end with a dry, crisp finish.

Wonderful sweet fruit aroma. Sweet and sour taste which spot on for this style. Bready aftertaste on the palate for this pale straw colored beer. Completely makes up for the other shiner abominations I have had in the past. A little on the thin side but very drinkable probably from being filtered.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear light golden color with a frothy white pillowy head. Aroma is spicy, citrus, yeast, bubblegum sweetness, and fresh grass. Taste is spicy hops balanced nicely with grassy, citrus, yeast and light sweet flavors. Light body, light to medium carbonation.

bottle - Clear yellow pour, white head, mild yeasty and grainy malt aroma. The flavor is of sweet, grainy malt, some mild bittering hops, yeast, and a slight hint of citrus. It’s light to medium bodied and on the bland side. Okay.
