COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A few centuries ago, during the cold winter months, farmhands in Europe brewed a ‘seasonal provision’ Farmhouse Ale to be enjoyed once spring rolled around. In the farmlands of Shiner, TX that tradition lives on. Which is why our tribute to this style uses Golding, Sterling and Meridian hops for a sweet yet lightly spiced flavor. Our incredibly refreshing farmhouse ale bears the name of the farm to market road just to the south of where our brewery has proudly stood for over 100 years.

12oz bottle. Totally clear golden yellow color. Thin, slightly off-white sort of bubbly head. A couple short ropes and dots of lace. Kind of a grassy, lightly citrusy, spicy floral earthy aroma. More hop than expected, not too bad, with a nice yeast character. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp carbonation, with a more dry finish. Just a light bit of mustiness. Taste is light bitter, little slightly tart sweetness. Bigger spiciness. Solid take on a farmhouse - much better than expected.

Bottle from Whole Foods. Pours chill hazy gold with minimal head. Nose is bready pale malt, orange marmaladey fruit. Tastes somewhat sweet, with pale malt, orangy fruit, mild hops, mild funk, and a complex finish. Not bad.

Its a good cheap beer. Found it on sale for $3.68 and I’ll keep buying it as long as the sale lasts

Crystal clear pale straw pour. White light to medium head. A little lacing. I notice fruity yeast in the aroma first quickly followed by the citrus and earthy hops used. Highly carbonated. Flavor is also yeast to start. I get cloves and banana. A slight metallic taste. Followed by hops briefly and winds down to a sweet malt and fruity yeast finish. ---Rated via iPhone

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear medium gold with a fizzy one finger white head that is quick to fade into some wispy lacing on top and on the sides of the glass. Aroma is very Saison-like with hints of coriander and orange peel with a little underlying caramel. The yeasty citrus is quite nice and better than I was expecting. The flavor, however, is a bit of a let-down. Citrus and coriander up front but it is very dialed back and weak. A tiny bit of acidity before the abundant carbonation washes away nearly all hints of flavor. Mouthfeel is extremely dry which is nice but it nearly goes too far and becomes chalky. Absolutely no lingering finish which is really a shame. Overall, there is a lot of potential with this beer but it just falls short. I feel like Spoetzl was trying to play it safe and appeal to the masses but it is a little too safe. While this is not something I would pick up on a regular basis, it could be a good introduction to the style.

Aroma is bubble gum, spicy yeast and bananas, all very light in intensity. The flavor is spicy yeast, bubble gum and mildly sweet in the finish.

bottle @ Nobi in Webster .. . pours a mild gold, touches of foam .. . stale corn and 40 year old bandaids .. . light light mouth .. . quick finish .. . an easy session beer, not at all complex, but something i’d drink again if it was in a friends fridge or cooler .. . . i finished your laundry, the ashes are in the fireplace.

From the aroma, I was not expecting much. Pleasant surprise on the taste. Lively carbination when you pour, settles down quite a bit. White head with lots of lacing left on the glass. Slight fruity taste, apples, pears, and bread. Descnt beer for a warm day.
