COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A few centuries ago, during the cold winter months, farmhands in Europe brewed a Ďseasonal provisioní Farmhouse Ale to be enjoyed once spring rolled around. In the farmlands of Shiner, TX that tradition lives on. Which is why our tribute to this style uses Golding, Sterling and Meridian hops for a sweet yet lightly spiced flavor. Our incredibly refreshing farmhouse ale bears the name of the farm to market road just to the south of where our brewery has proudly stood for over 100 years.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear medium gold with a fizzy one finger white head that is quick to fade into some wispy lacing on top and on the sides of the glass. Aroma is very Saison-like with hints of coriander and orange peel with a little underlying caramel. The yeasty citrus is quite nice and better than I was expecting. The flavor, however, is a bit of a let-down. Citrus and coriander up front but it is very dialed back and weak. A tiny bit of acidity before the abundant carbonation washes away nearly all hints of flavor. Mouthfeel is extremely dry which is nice but it nearly goes too far and becomes chalky. Absolutely no lingering finish which is really a shame. Overall, there is a lot of potential with this beer but it just falls short. I feel like Spoetzl was trying to play it safe and appeal to the masses but it is a little too safe. While this is not something I would pick up on a regular basis, it could be a good introduction to the style.

Aroma is bubble gum, spicy yeast and bananas, all very light in intensity. The flavor is spicy yeast, bubble gum and mildly sweet in the finish.

From the aroma, I was not expecting much. Pleasant surprise on the taste. Lively carbination when you pour, settles down quite a bit. White head with lots of lacing left on the glass. Slight fruity taste, apples, pears, and bread. Descnt beer for a warm day.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear light golden color with a frothy white pillowy head. Aroma is spicy, citrus, yeast, bubblegum sweetness, and fresh grass. Taste is spicy hops balanced nicely with grassy, citrus, yeast and light sweet flavors. Light body, light to medium carbonation.

Bottle from 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a slightly cloudy golden color, slight amount of lacing. Aroma doughy, yeasty, bready. Maybe some fruity esters, too. Body very lively, finish is slightly tart and very abrupt. Itís not awful, but itís not top level, either.

Clear straw pour with a thin white head. Aroma is spice and yeast. Taste is spicy hops, caramel, and yeast. Thin body. I like this more than most Shiner beers. Donít know why itís showing as a sour though.

12 ounce bottle - $1.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours out a ever so slightly hazed, pale yellow body with a smallish, white head.

Smell: Slightly sweetish sniff of saltine, pils malt. Pinch of ground clove and coriander. Low peach fruitiness, as well as some lemony citrus.

Taste: Soft, crackery pilsner maltiness with a light sweetness. Particularly tangy citrus taste pops in alongside the spicy phenols. Dash of AlbariŮo, little hint of peach. Some acidity. Flirts again with the initial sweetness. Clove-like spiciness and light fruitiness on the semi-dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Itís saison-lite, and saison-like, really.

bottled, clear orange colored pour with no foam, decent grainy slighlty sweet aroma, actually has some depth to it with husky grain and sweet cherry flavor, maybe light sour finish
