3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Originally rated December 2010. Thanks to my parents for bringing this one back from the States. Big foamy white head that stays a long, long time, and creates patchy lacing. Hazy golden-beige colour with decent carbonation. Mild aromas and taste of wheat malt with a touch of citrus. An overall refreshing hefeweizen, but lacking the punch that are found in German ones.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: SEP 29, 2014 Bottle: Banana-straw colored body, highly muddled with a fluffy white head; long lasting. Aroma is more like a kolsch or witbier than a hefeweizen. Very mild, too. Some strange tartness... Green apple skins, grapes, pears, light yeasty pepper notes & faint spice. Taste is full of sweet pale malt, grains, mild wheat, & big notes of tart apple skin, lemon, & grape. Biscuit finish with a lingering metallic note. Thin, wishy washy mouth feel. Mediocre on the grand scale, even worse when considering the supposed style.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
"Really didn’t care for this. Not quite a hefe, but not an American wheat either. A bit of a muddled mess. Sweet with a lemony bitterness that does not complement the beer because the traditional banana clove aspects are missing. Don’t get the higher scores...didn’t wanna finish the bottle."

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Transfer from BA review on 10-16-12-
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a huge white head. The head fades relatively fast to give a light level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma was heaviest of wheat and a lemon citrus. Mixed with these are some aromas of yeast and a biscuit aroma.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter lemon and wheat bread flavor. These flavors create a base for the beer. Some light yeasty flavors come to the tongue in the middle with a biscuit taste. At the very end more lemon and some orange come to the tongue and in the end leave a sweet and sour wheaty flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel -The body of the beer in on the medium side with a carbonation level that is on the slightly higher side. Both are very appropriate for the style and make for a easy drinking brew.
Overall – A little lacking on complexity, but more sessionable. Overall it is fairly average (maybe a bit above).

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
It has a cloudy yellow/tan colored body with a tall three finger tall head. The head is off white in color and has a thick and creamy look that makes some nice sticky lace rings at the top of the glass. The aroma has a light yeasty/bready character with some hints of fresh citrus. Its flavor has a modest medium body with a light bready and yeasty character which is both earthy and fruity. There is a mild sweetness from the malt and a nice touch of lemon and orange citrus zest before the hops come in and add a slight bitterness and dryness. Light hop bitterness and dry yeast notes quickly fade from the tongue in the finish.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle at home from backlog notes 07. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a large off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale wheat malts, lemon citrus, hay, perhaps a hint of spice. There really wasn’t much to this. I will not be revisiting this.

These seem to magically appear at my house every summer during pool parties. Not my favorite but certainly goes down easy and I don’t feel too guilty just drinking it from the bottle.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
bottle. cloudy golden with small head. it’s like they took 9 parts of a very bland wheat beer, and then mixed in 1 part hefeweizen in. why can’t more american breweries make a proper hefe? all the parts are there, but they’re just so muted.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a murky straw color with a white 2 finger head. Aroma is bready with malts, wheat, citrus, lemon grass. There is a very faint bubblegum or banana smell as well. Taste has wheat, German yeasts, a bit of clove and orange peel, faint citrus, tangy lemon grass. Mouth feel is medium bodied, medium to high carbonation.Drinkable Hefeweizen, but doesn’t taste like the greatest Hefeweizen. Almost more like an average wheat ale.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A- Wheat, corn, butter, lemon.
A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, white head.
T- Slightly sweet, corn, wheat, water, yeasty, subtle banana.
P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, wheat finish.
O- Not too flavorful. Far from being horrible, but just lacks a lot of the great qualities I love in a Hefe. Not overly satisfying.
