12 oz. bottle. Pours a short lived white head, over a cloudy, pale yellow body.....nose is a bit of cereal, light lemon, hint of bubblegum......taste is light cereal, then a bit of citrus, finishing with medium bitterness. In appearance it is a Hefeweizen, in aroma almost, in flavor not. BJCP 5/3/10/4/5

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 glennmastrange (1547) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - NOV 3, 2010
Bottle. Moderate malt and hop aromas of cereal, grain, and lemon and perfume, light moldy cheese smell for the yeast, with sour apple and white wine vinegar in the background. Head is small, frothy, white with no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky, which clears up a bit, yellow. Flavor starts moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic, lightly bitter and pretty sour. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively carbonation and a metallic finish. I did like the aroma in this beer, it’s a shame the flavor is all acidic, sour and bitey, and the finish has that big metallic aftertaste.

12 oz bottle at Boiling Pot in Rockport, TX. Pours golden with a nice foamy, white head. Aroma is of wheat and some fruit. Light to medium body. Stale sour taste does not remind me of Hefe at all.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Elwood (1834) - Between a rock and a hard place, Virginia, USA - OCT 15, 2010
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from a mix six pack.
Aroma: There is a good dose of wheat, lemon, and a slight off metallic note. Fairly light all the way around though.
Appearance: It pours a cloudy amber orange with a small, foamy, white head. Decent head retention.
Taste: I am greeted by a nice light lemon note first but then that off metallic note pushes everything out of the way. There is some a clean wheat note in the back along with some seemingly stale yeastiness.
Palate: Light body with softer than average carbonation and slightly dry, wheaty finish.
Overall: It’s a less than stellar hefeweizen. Skip this brew.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2010 Shiner, Shiner. The more I hear about this brewery the less impressed I am. Still, I like Shiner Bock, and will happily drink it any time.

Aroma of a very mild hefe, its evident here that this brew is weak. Mild hops, mild fruit, mild flavor. Low end of the hefe spectrum here.

bottle pours hazy yellow with a tall white head. Aroma is hay and tart lemon. Flavor is strong citrus and coriander very wit like. Not bad, but the flavors are very light and boring.
