3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ughsmash (5631) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 28, 2010
Bottled. Poured hazy medium golden with a dense, sticky white head. The aroma picked up almost stale toasted bananas, vanilla, and red wheat on a sweet overall complexion.. not bad, but seemed like not a whole lot of effort was put into it. The flavor found the same sweet bananas and vanilla at the core with lemon zest and tangy wheat surrounding.. popped well on the tart edges, but there was just too much sweetness that kept it from refreshingness. Light-medium bodied on the palate.. sweet as mentioned.. very drinkable.

Bottle/12oz - Pours a slightly cloudy golden yellow in color with a small white head. Aroma is bready with yeast and some citrus notes. Flavor is also yeast with citrus, but not as good as the aroma promised. Finish is short and yeasty.

I’m admittedly biased toward unfiltered wheat brews. That said, this is a very nice one. Pours a cloudy orange yellow with nice head that dissipates qucikly. Flavor is well balanced between wheat and citrus of the lemon/orange variety. No bitterness and a nice effervesence on the tongue. Finishes with orange peel.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with Cavie. Pours a very hazy yellow gold with a fluffy moderate white head that lasted until the last sip and left a dense layer of foam with each sip. Mild aroma of sweet honey and white sugar. The flavor is light wheat along with just a hint of lemon. Mild bitterness and lightly sweet as well. Overall, no problems.

12oz bottle at Joe’e on Weed St. not much character in this brew. Pours hazy yellow in color. Big foamy white head. Light wheat aroma. A mild wheat beer. A little sweetness and spice. Nothing special for a wheat beer
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Shrews629 (193) - Kentucky, USA - JUL 15, 2010
Cloudy; yellowish/orange. A few bubbles coming up from the bottom. Bright white head that was rather small and finished with a small thin ring. Getting some fruit - orange - citrus in the smell. Picking up some spice, probably the cloves. Faint hint of the wheat. As far as the taste, I’m getting a decent bit of bitterness coming through at the end on the back of the tongue. Catching the orange and citrus flavor. Slight bit of sourness finding its way through also. Tasting the wheat, but not getting a whole lot of the honey. Mouthfeel is light. Goes down very smooth. Crisp and slightly watery. This beer is a thirst quencher. Easily drinkable in hot weather. A decent brew really; not horrible, but nothing outstanding. I wouldn’t mind picking this up again.

Typical American lemon soda pop hefeweizen. How dare they even call it a hefe. It’s not. I guessing it tastes like what your urine would taste like after you drink a real German hefe or maybe worse. Boring. This is the kind of beer people drink when they really don’t like beer.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Onslow (639) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JUL 10, 2010
Pour from a 12oz bottle. Cloudy yellow brew with three fingers of white head. Good head persistence and lacing. Aroma of wheat, yeast, some faint citrus overtones. Flavor is not bad – refreshing wheaty / yeasty bitterness with a rather nice bitter and sour finish. Lively carbonation and decent body give it a good mouthfeel. Very nice!
