COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shiner Hefeweizen (Hef-ay-vite-zen) is a classic unfiltered Bavarian-style wheat brew. Once poured into a glass, the distinctively cloudy Shiner Hefeweizen delivers a fresh, satisfying flavor from start to finish.

I was glad to see this was listed as a "Wheat Ale" this pretty much syncs with my past experiences of this beer. I even had the decency to pour this into a hefe glass though, aren’t I kind? Damn this looks nice enough, the beer pours with a hazy yellow color and a big frothy tight white head. The aroma is faint and slightly soapy with some lemon peel and a dominant yeast character. The flavor is a little more exciting than the aroma with a orange zest and light spiciness as the greatest pleasantries. The palate is thin but fizzy.

I saw this bottle in my mixed twelve and thought, "no good can come of this." It’s not that bad though. It is an extraordinarily mild version of the style, something of a cross between the typical bland American wheat and and an actual hefe. The color is a cloudy orange and the head is small. Flavor and aroma are mild and slightly banana-ish, a bit tart and rather refreshing. There’s really not much to it but you could enjoy it just fine out on the deck in the summer. This is actually one of the better beers of the six in the sampler.

12oz bottle. Pours like a hefe should, with a nice blonde murkiness and a mild white head that sticks around for a bit. Smells like wheat and bananas. Tastes of clove and wheat with just a hint of banana on the end. Not bad at all

12fl oz bottle poured into a scotch glass (I’m at a hotel and it’s all I could find). Cloudy orange with ample creamy white head. Aroma is dishwater and citrus. Flavor is strong citrus. Finish is citrus and honey. Not terrible on its own but a poor example of a hefeweizen.

Cloudy, fresh and enjoyable. Enjoy this beer exactly as it instructs on the bottle and you will not be disappointed.

Pours a hazy gold and smells of wheat. Rather light in the flavor department. There is wheat and banana for sure. It has a crisp bite finish.

This hefe is BAD. Yellow pour, small white head. Grain, slight wheat and citrus flavor. Very boring, tastes like water.
