COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shiner Hefeweizen (Hef-ay-vite-zen) is a classic unfiltered Bavarian-style wheat brew. Once poured into a glass, the distinctively cloudy Shiner Hefeweizen delivers a fresh, satisfying flavor from start to finish.

I would say a good attempt at a hefe but not quite there. Fizzy with a hint of the banana yeast. Drinkable but not the best hefe out there.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours an extremely hazy straw color. Good head on this one - about two fingers high, white in shade, and quite creamy looking. It ultimately settles to about a finger high, and leaves a bit of lacing on the glass as well. S: The orange and lemon peel are very forward in their nature. There’s also a notable candied sugar character, along with some coriander, clove, and bubblegum. This one seems to feature a lot of witbier elements along side the usual (if muted) hefeweizen notes. T: I have no idea why Shiner wants you to put a lemon wedge in this one, because the lemon and orange notes on the opening are quite strong. Honey pops up in the finish, along with some subtle spicing. If anything, this is more witbier than hefeweizen (or even APWA) to me. M: While there’s good crispness to the body, I think it’s a bit too sweet on the finish (which seems to be commonplace in many Shiner brews). On the other hand, the lack of notable astringency helps give it a soft feel, and it seems to dry up slightly as it gets warm. O: This is pretty solid as long as you don’t expect a true hefeweizen. As a generic wheat, or as a warm-weather refresher, it’s honestly really good; it’s just not much of a ’hefewelzen’.

Pours cloudy gold with large white head out of bottle. Citrus and wheat aroma. Zesty flavor with smooth finish. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Im not a wheat beer fan, but if I want a hefeweizen, this would be my go-to beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Has a very sweet fruity and wheat taste and smell. It had a half a finger head with lacing. It represents the style well. One of my go to beers when I want a hefe

355ml bottle from a publix in Kissimmee Florida. Hazed golden with a lasting white head. Wheaty citrus aroma. The flavour is similar. A lightly fruity off dry wheat ale. Not a classic hefe but not a bad beer. I’d have this again. FLVC2 #16

Bottle from a mixed six pack. Pour has a lightly clouded bright golden color and a covering of white head that stuck around a while. Aroma has banana yeast, wheat, and some grainy bitterness. Mouth feel is medium light and the carbonation medium low. Flavor has bitter wheat, yeast, and grass.

Bottle. Aroma of bland malts and an unclear sweet smell. Tastes bland, has an unsavory sweetness to it with an overall taste of crap wheat and has a funky sour note to the end of it. As I’m drinking it, I don’t want to say it’s awful, but then when you break it down it sort of is. We’ll call it greater than the sum of its parts, and just say it’s better than Miller Lite and be done, k? 5.28% alcohol.

A cloudy, lemon yellow body with a thin, soapy head. The aroma is really subtle. There is a little citrus and hops, not much else. The flavor is fairly weak. There’s a bit of pungent hops in the middle of the sip and a little citrus in the close, but not a lot else. This beer is not among Shiner’s best and not a great example of the style.
