Shiner Hefeweizen (Hef-ay-vite-zen) is a classic unfiltered Bavarian-style wheat brew. Once poured into a glass, the distinctively cloudy Shiner Hefeweizen delivers a fresh, satisfying flavor from start to finish.

Sept. 2006 - Not much of a hefeweizen...totally missing all the tell tale flavors. Anyway, straw yellow pour. Wheaty flavor but restrained. Not much else going on. Carbonated mouthfeel. I guess it could be called refreshing, as there wasn’t much flavor to get in the way of anything.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a hazy golden color with a 1/2 finger thick white head which faded quickly. Aroma is light citrus and light fruity esters. Flavor is light citrus and lightly sweetened malt. Has a very light fizz to it. Light body. Worth a try.

I like the hefeweizen and have had several good ones lately but this is on the lower end of the scale. Better than BMC but doesn’t have the depth of flavor it needs. Not bad but there are better options for the same money around.

34 oz draft. Cloudy straw-yellow color, minimal head. Thin aroma of banana, yeast, and dough. Flavors of banana, citrus, and a little corn. Not bad tasting, looking, or smelling, just not much to it. Thin, simple, and quite direct. Goes down clean, making this a decent beer on a hot day or when there’s nothing close to craft beer at the bar.

pours a hazy yellow-gold shade with a white head. aroma is yeasty, with some lemon, clove, and banana. not very strong aroma though. taste is similar; clove, malt, a dab of yeast, and a very subtle hint of woodiness. mid-bodied. gentle flavors. creamy mouthfeel and a bitter finish (also a smidge of lemon on the finish). good head on it though, and some nice lacing. would make an okay session brew. not the best brew though style-wise.

Scary man on front of bottle! DO NOT LIKE!! Well, an interesting biting flavor of citrus and pine. Not a fan, too watery in the body.

I think this is a good flavored beer. Nice acidity and bite to it. Like others said, try it with a slice of orange or lemon.

When I first tried this beer a few years ago I was very impressed. However I recently purchased a 6 pack and was disappointed, not sure if my tastes changed or if the blend has been revised, either way its just so so... but worth a try.
