COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
’Tis the Season for Cheer

Happy Holidays from the "Little Brewery" in Shiner, TX. We hope you enjoy your Shiner Cheer, an Old World Dunkelweizen brewed with Texas peaches and roasted pecans. The malty flavors of this dark wheat ale are enhanced through the use of malted barley and wheat. And Kräusening ensures a smoothnessthat makes the subtle peach and pecan flavors all the more satisfying. May your days be merry and bright and your Shiner be cold.

PROSIT!

Dark ruby pour. Sweet notes apparent on the nose. Pecan taste is prevalent with a great aftertaste. Prost!

12oz bottle 2/1/09 1,000th Rating(Binny’s Naperville)-Pours a clear ruby red with a nice off white head and it emits an aroma of peach, malt, light nuttiness, and spices. Taste of the same with the pecans coming out in the middle and a small taste of peach on the far back end. This medium bodied brew is by no means a holiday/ x-mas beer but it is different and not bad.

Decent pour...amber with off-white head. Nose of sweet malt and yeasty fruit. The flavor was sweet caramel malt, light peach fruit and bread dough. Some mild earthy hoppiness in the finish. Not that bad! Thanks be to Cornfield.

THOUGHTS: A really different take on a holiday beer. While it didn’t necessarily scream "holiday" to me, it was a real departure from their year-round offerings and isn’t that what holiday beers are supposed to be — something special a brewery makes just for us. This was a much better attempt than last year’s dunkelweise. Plus this is a much nicer label. I wished there was more sweet peach and less peach pit. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium to dark, brownish amber with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma was mostly peach along with light to moderate caramel malt and light nuttiness that I guess was pecan, The flavor started a little sweet and acidic, and finished acidic, a little sour, and bitter with an average duration. There was peach, caramel malt, peach pit and a nuttiness that I guess was pecan in the finish. The light to medium body was dry with fizzy carbonation and a moderately astringent finish.

Amber color with a light fizzy head that disappears. Strong Peachy aroma but with no peach taste at all. Overall light and dry on the palate. I liked the dunkelweizen better.

Tasted 1/1/09. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a deep dark ruby hue. Moldy layer of off-white head. Aromas of cola, citrus and a lotta spices. Light to medium bodied with a fizzy, fruity soda flavor. Fruity Pebbles. Odd carbonation and bitterness. This is a mess...

Dark amber with a small-to-medium, very light-brown head that is mostly diminishing. Really strong peach aroma, more similar to canned peaches than fresh - actually a really pleasant aroma. Flavor has a bit of grassy, herbally hops up front, mildly bitter and mildly sweet. Peaches take a definite back seat. Finish has notes of toffee, roasted nuts and stale bread. Expected more fruitiness in the flavor after the rather huge aroma. Still, a decently fun beer.

Bottle. Pours clear tawny with a small, fizzy, off-white head, mostly diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, nutty), average hops (flowers, perfume), average yeast (leather) with notes of peaches, apple, pear, cinnamon, and ginger. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Picked this up at Wise Guys in Merrillville, Indiana. Nice look to it, a clear reddish chestnut body - artificially colored, according to the label - and a creamy, pale beige head. It had an aroma of overly ripe peaches - the mushy type that you accidentally poke your finger into. The flavor is peach candy with a nutty bitterness that does not taste like pecans. Oh dear.

Dark amber color with a small off-white haed. Aroma is of canned peaches in peach jello, with some caramel and malts. Flavor is of caramel, nuts and peaches (the artificial type).
