COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
’Tis the Season for Cheer

Happy Holidays from the "Little Brewery" in Shiner, TX. We hope you enjoy your Shiner Cheer, an Old World Dunkelweizen brewed with Texas peaches and roasted pecans. The malty flavors of this dark wheat ale are enhanced through the use of malted barley and wheat. And Kräusening ensures a smoothnessthat makes the subtle peach and pecan flavors all the more satisfying. May your days be merry and bright and your Shiner be cold.

PROSIT!

Pours a nice dark brown with reddish hints, a beige fluffy head accompanies. The aroma is of peaches, caramel, and a light hint of pecans. The flavor is strong and peachy, which I liked followed by some caramel, with some sweet pecan that follows through in the finish. Pretty fruity, a touch sweet with a nice toasty aspect too. Medium bodied, very easy to drink, and actually way better than I thought it would be. I will probably buy another one of these here at some point. I like the fact that a winter beer is made that is not an English Strong Ale or ASA.

GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - DEC 20, 2008
Draft. Poured a clear dark orange-brown color. The head was off white. Smelled of distinct peaches, pancake, subdued caramel, and a bit of brown sugar. Medium bodied and slightly sweet. Tasted of peach, toffee, and cereal grain. Didnt really get much in the way of pecan. A bit too peachy for me, but not a bad beer.

Ernest (6198) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 18, 2008
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain/nuts), with notes of artificial peach taffy, cola, and detergent. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Unpleasant artificial-smelling aroma, thin, watery, poor aftertaste. Drain pour.

Sparky (2243) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - DEC 17, 2008
Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with minimal off white head but spotty lacing. Nose is peaches and caramel malt for the most part. Taste is peach, roasted nuts and caramel with a sweet finish. Medium prickly mouth feel. Not that bad to be honest, and better than I expected it to be.

From a bottle poured a nut brown with a good amount of head. Nice aroma of peaches with a sweet finish.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2008 Bottle poured into flute. Poured darkened tan with tints of ruby and brown, low carbonation, one finger head formed and tried to lace. Aroma of candi sugar peaches and roses. Hits the mouth with a weak bod,y malt is there but alot of various spices muddy it, finish has a spicy feel to it. Definately will not buy again. Some slapnut had too much time on their hands at the brewery to come up with this trashcan

Sample at December 12, 2008 Beer Club meeting. Great frothy head atop a dark amber colored body. Wow! Aroma is craziness with peaches!... Flavor is not as impressive as the aroma... appears to be a strange conflict between the peaches and pecans. Looks like Shiner has to work on this recipe. Has an almost metallic, bitter palate. Eh...

12oz Bottle – 99 Bottles – Federal Way, WA – Very interesting flavor with the nuts and peaches added this beer was not too bad. I liked the flavor and would have another. They did a good job in introducing some new flavors on this beer.

ours a dark amber color with a small light brown head. Looks like a soda. Heavy aroma of peaches and a little nutty malt. Flavor or peaches, malt and some roasted nut on the end. Bitter Finish

Deep copper red body with a light khaki head. The aroma is light with some ginger and dark bread. There is a little bit of amaretto liqueur. The taste has some lightly sweet plums mixed with coffee. There is also some decent ginger spice in the finish. Decent, especially for Shiner.
