3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
It looks like the style of this beer has been changed to "blond ale", which is fairly accurate. This is basically a light ale with a little spice and a smidgen of sweetness hiding somewhere in there. Unfortunately there is a slight macro-swill taste to the end of the glass.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear yellow with a an off-white head which doesn't last long. The nose is slight but what there is is malty. The taste is good balance of malt to hops, with a slight nod to the hops. There is also a bread note along the the way. The mouthfeel is medium with a crisp finish and little to none aftertaste. Enjoyable.

OK, I dont know how many slightly below average, totally unoffensive yet unchallenging golden light beers one brewery can make, but here’s another. Refreshing, lightly bready malt flavor...clean. Golden in color, slight white head.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Comes out of the tap a pretty clear and slightly orangy amber. Crisp, fruity aroma has a powdered-drink undertone. Flavor is not strong but is pleasingly crisp, fruity, a little dusty and a little sour. Smooth, fizzy texture is powdery and just a bit on the thin side. A refreshing way to welcome summer - which it might as well be right now in Atlanta! (And it’s only mid-May!)

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear gold, with a small whitish head. Aroma of grain and a bit of hops. Taste is slightly hopped pale lager, and body is thin. Refreshing and reasonably drinkable, but nothing to seek out. There just isn’t much here.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
I love Kolsch, but this one doesn’t quite add up. Good color and head retention but a weak nose. Will have to retaste from another six pack sometime soon.
Clean on the palate with a pleasant herbal dryness. Finish is rather short but crisp. Still very refreshing and thirst quenching, but that is to be expected from probably any example of the style.
Good to see another addition to the domestic Kolsch list but this one is miles behind Pyramid Curve Ball and others.

Golden pour with a nice refreshing smell. Wheat and a little bit of hops. Nice on a hot summer day in Texas.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Actually enjoy this one, it’s not a great beer, but for a summer style Kolsch (which was their goal!) it works pretty well, higher up for it’s style then many of the other Shiner beers.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light gold pour, thin white head, a bit of a sweet smell, bitter from beginning to end, the only Kolsch I’ve had, so I’ve nothing to compare it.
