COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“Kosmos Spoetzl knew how to brew great beer. Born in Bavaria, Kosmos’ mastery of German brewing carried him as far as Egypt before he found his way to the small Texas town of Shiner. Our proud brewery still carries his name and commitment to excellence in brewing. This full-flavored, hop-jacked lager is every bit as unique as the man himself and our way of saluting the brewmaster who started it all.”

Decent for the style. No off taste. Great boat beer anyways. I’d try it again.

This is not good. Smells and tastes of creamed corn and a touch of cardboard. Finishes with a bitter soda and funky malt chaser. Not good.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2014 Bottle. Beer pours light copper color with a quickly dissipating head. Grainy aroma with a hint of floral hops. Taste is ok. Not a favorite.

This beer is OK. I wouldn’t say it’s "hop-jacked". Light and crisp. Flavors of grass and straw. A little bit of caramel in the malt backbone.

Beer pours light copper color with a quickly dissipating head. Grainy aroma with a hint of floral hops. Taste is sweet. Needs more bitterness for balance. Blah.

Pours a rich amber with a medium-sized head. Some bread and light fruit notes. Some light hop flavor as well. Okay.

Bottle - Light skunk and light sweet malts. Clear gold with a rich white head. Light citrus and some grape with a bit of skunky hops and slight bitter finish. Closer to a Euro Lager but still too sweet.

Surprisingly tasty and refreshing beer. Nice malty aroma. Malty on the palette, Smooth, malty flavor. It was hard to know what to expect from reading the description on the bottle, although it was interesting reading a little bit of Shiner Brewery lore. Serving type: bottle
