COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
ďKosmos Spoetzl knew how to brew great beer. Born in Bavaria, Kosmosí mastery of German brewing carried him as far as Egypt before he found his way to the small Texas town of Shiner. Our proud brewery still carries his name and commitment to excellence in brewing. This full-flavored, hop-jacked lager is every bit as unique as the man himself and our way of saluting the brewmaster who started it all.Ē

Pour is a darker gold with a large white head. Aroma is kinda vegetal and sweet grain. Flavor is weak and watery. No real malts and no hops what so ever. Kinda just sweet and thin. I guess they were going for a Sam Adams lager clone but missed the mark on the important things like aroma and flavor.

Pours a gold color with a small head. Aromas of some cooked vegetables, corn. No hop aroma. Taste is lightly sweet, very watery mouthfeel and a pretty clean finish. Slightly vegetal. Meh.

Bottle. Clean amber pour with foamy white head. Aroma is very minimal, maybe white bread. Taste up front isnít bad, a bit of caramel that quickly dissipates into a watery finish. Not much character, but serviceable lawnmower beer.

Bottle from Once Upon a Vine - South on 04/02/2011. Clear golden body with a large frothy white head. Sweet spicy hop aroma on a light malt background. Sweet spicy hop flavor with some light fruitiness and a mild malt background. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.

12oz bottle 12/9/10 (Whole Foods-Lamar)-Pours a slightly hazy amber with a small head. Aroma of malt. Taste of malt and caramel. This medium bodied brew is not bad but just another beer from Shiner.

Basically a Shiner Bock with more bitterness, but one can discern a variety of subtle hop flavors as well. Pleasant smell with some sweet hoppiness, copper color with great lacing. Mild, balanced, and drinkable taste. Maybe just a bit thin on the palate, but a good balanced flavor. It would be nice if they sold this in six packs, but I've only found it in the shiner "family reunion" mixed packs. Recommended. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Discusting. Tastes like someone farted on some dirt, then mixed it in with the beer. And somehow has a metallic aftertaste

crazyvin (1933) - New York, USA - DEC 13, 2013
A golden body with a white head that had nice retention and good lace. Aroma had a generically sweet malty profile upfront. Some bread notes and a little bit of hops. Flavor had a nice subtle sweetness upfront. The bread note was a little more prevalent than in the aroma. A slight bitterness from the hops. A nice and smooth flavor that was certainly a surprise. Easy to drink.

Clear golden color, excellent head, but you can tell itís thin and slushy. It says that itís dry hopped, but you canít tell from the aroma. Itís classic macrocrap aroma. The flavor is a little sweet, with touches of bready malts, It is better that most macro-lagers, but thatís perhaps damning it with faint praise. Equal parts English- and German-lager. The feel is actually not bad, a little buttery and with a medium body. Itís a fine change-of-pace beer, but you might as well aim a little higher.

Looks like a regular macro, maybe a slightly deeper color. Smells metallic and neutral. Taste is not bad. A little bitter, carbonated. Just OK
