0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Discusting. Tastes like someone farted on some dirt, then mixed it in with the beer. And somehow has a metallic aftertaste

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A golden body with a white head that had nice retention and good lace. Aroma had a generically sweet malty profile upfront. Some bread notes and a little bit of hops. Flavor had a nice subtle sweetness upfront. The bread note was a little more prevalent than in the aroma. A slight bitterness from the hops. A nice and smooth flavor that was certainly a surprise. Easy to drink.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear golden color, excellent head, but you can tell it’s thin and slushy.
It says that it’s dry hopped, but you can’t tell from the aroma. It’s classic macrocrap aroma.
The flavor is a little sweet, with touches of bready malts, It is better that most macro-lagers, but that’s perhaps damning it with faint praise. Equal parts English- and German-lager.
The feel is actually not bad, a little buttery and with a medium body. It’s a fine change-of-pace beer, but you might as well aim a little higher.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Looks like a regular macro, maybe a slightly deeper color. Smells metallic and neutral. Taste is not bad. A little bitter, carbonated. Just OK

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Fairly bland taste and a musty smell. Medium golden body with small silky head. Not much here to write about.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The description says "hop-jacked lager" which makes me envision some sort of imperial pale lager with tons of hops. Nope, not even close. Pours out a light copper with golden highlights, a small amount of thickened white head that leaves a nice bit of lacing. Initial aroma is of sweet doughy pilsner malt, dry cereal, very light floral, and some heavy lager esters. There’s a sweet doughy malt flavor, slightly toasty and a touch of a corn-like sweetness at the end. The bitterness is a little higher than in other Shiner beers which means it is almost nearing balanced, but still not quite. The finish leaves a few of the rich malt-notes that one would be looking for in a Bavarian style lager. The bitterness however much they advertise, should be much firmer and stronger. There are no distinct hop characteristics that would set this beer apart from others in their lineup, however the additional bitterness makes this better than the original Bock.

I wish I could say more about this, but yeah, it is either a maltier version of their lager or a lighter version of their bock. Not sure...

Nov. 27, 2013; 12 oz. bottle. A slightly maltier, less boring version of Shiner’s other premium lager.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is basically a simple yet tasty enough beer with just a hint of caramel malt. Nice orange color.
