COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“Kosmos Spoetzl knew how to brew great beer. Born in Bavaria, Kosmos’ mastery of German brewing carried him as far as Egypt before he found his way to the small Texas town of Shiner. Our proud brewery still carries his name and commitment to excellence in brewing. This full-flavored, hop-jacked lager is every bit as unique as the man himself and our way of saluting the brewmaster who started it all.”

Everything about this beer is bringing up just one word to me, no matter what I try to think of differently to describe it: coppery. It looks coppery, it smells coppery, and God help me, it tastes coppery. I just hope coppery is a word.

DasBierChef (1083) - Hudson, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 4, 2012
Pours a clear copper with thin white head and decent lacing. Aroma of malt, malt, and more malt. Taste is almost sickeningly sweet with no hoppy balance at all. Not impressed in the least.

UncleKorm (748) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - SEP 25, 2012
Bottle poured a clear golden hue with minimal white head. Aroma of grass and mild malt. Taste of mild sweetness, peppery yeast, thin, watery, and a bit metallic. Not special.

Ckear dark amber pour w/ a small white head. Aroma is sweet fruit, grain. Flavor has bitter and sweet but not well-balanced. Fruit, grain, some not pleasant vegetable flavor. Drinkable but just barely so.

Pailhead (4637) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - JUN 7, 2013
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate honey, apple, and just a touch of grain. It pours a transparent copper with a one finger off-white head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of honey and a touch of sweet fruit. The finish has light-moderate apple, light grain, spice, and a touch of grass. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Overall, short of appearance, there’s nothing I find appealing about this beer. It’s too sweet and too much apple.

Not soapy hoppy just lemon and a bit bitter and dry. Beautiful color HEY guess what? It also smells like lemon. Still a good balance and drinkable.

Poured a dark amber with a finger of off white head. Malty front that quickly dissipated to nothing of note. Bitter, but not a lot of hop flavor in there.
