COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Shiner, TX (pop. 2,070), we’re suckers for tradition. Which is why this classic Oktoberfest brew is made with the highest quality two-row barley, Munich and caramel malts, along with German grown Hallertau Tradition and Hersbrucker hops. It’s our way of honoring our ancestors and the beer they loved to celebrate with. So raise your stein to tradition and enjoy this utterly classic brew.

Fall and winter are my favorite times of the year for beer, and Oktoberfest beers top my list of great seasonal brews. While Shiner’s Oktoberfest is not the best I’ve had, it’s a pretty good example of the style. Nice golden body with a foamy off-white head. The aroma is pretty light and doesn’t live up to most Marzens I’ve had. But, luckily that’s about the only down side of this beer. It’s smooth and easy to drink. There’s a malty sweetness up front that only slightly gives way to a moderate hops bite at the end. Like I said, not the best Marzen but quite easy to drink.

It smells, looks, and tastes like beer. There's nothing fantastic, but it's pretty inoffensive. If I was gonna drink all day, I may choose this, but as an Octoberfest, I'm unimpressed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Six pack from the local Harris Teeter supermarket. Pours a golden amber color with a thick off white head. Aroma is lightly malty. Some caramel flavoring to it with a slight dry finish. Needs a bit more malt, but a very good, drinkable beer.

Caramel nose and taste. Not a huge fan of this one. Nowhere near Sam Adams’ Octoberfest.

(Backlog) On tap at Wurstfest in New Braunfels, TX. Somewhat clear, orange in color, with an ok cream colored head. The smell is malts, cereal, blah, and caramel. The taste is malt, caramel, cereal, and ok.
