COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Shiner Brewing Association and original brewmaster Kosmos Spoetzl began an old world brewing tradition that continues today in Shiner, Texas. This copper-colored, medium-to-full-bodied Dusseldorf-style alt features a balance of malt and hops, a long-lasting, creamy head, and a dry smooth finish. This small-batch brew is our first Brewer’s Pride selection, and we hope you savor every sip. Prosit!

Poured hazy yellowish with a little head and lacing. I really didn’t pick out much in the aroma but, I’m not the best in that area anyway. Taste was a mix of malt and hops again nothing popping out at me. It had a nice light finish with little to no after-taste. Nice beer no matter what time of the year.

A light copper color with an off-white head. Some malt notes to it, somewhat bready. There’s a little fruity sweetness and maybe some chocolate. Not bad, actually. The flavor is heavy on the bread and toffee sweetness with a little bit of toasted malt. Hints of chocolate malt with some mild fruit notes to it as well. Medium body and carbonation.

12oz bottle from Shiner family reunion variety pack into a pint glass. Pours a clear copper with a decent one finger head. Pretty good head retention and lacing. Aroma is flowery hops along with caramel and toffee. The taste is flower hops along with some caramel malt. Bitterness is moderate and lasts throughout. The caramel and toffee flavors really come out towards the finish. Overall this is a pretty good beer. I am very pleased that Shiner has come out with this and if offered in six packs I would definitely buy.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thin, short duration, off white head, with some lacing, over a clear, copper amber, (SRM 12) body....nose is light cereal with a touch of caramel...taste is light cereal, leading to mild caramel/toffee, finishing with a light bitterness....mouth feel light, carbonation high. This seems to meet the style, unfortunately it is a rather simple, boring beer. BJCP 6/3/10/4/6

Aroma of nuts, malts, and baking soda. Pours orange with a medium creamy head. Tastes of bitter floral and malt. Good balance of malt to hop, just not very tasty.

Mild nutty-malt aroma with light floral hops. Coppery-amber clear with thin head. Light body with high carbonation. Mild flavor, carbonic acidity, dry bitter hop character and a bit of a nutty finish. Fairly neutral in flavor and not much of a alt-tasting altbier.

From bottle from sampler pack. Aroma is malty grain. Flavor is crisp and malty. Not much depth of flavor or hop flavor here, but a little bitter.

12 oz bottle. Pours copper with a short lived, thick, off-white head. Aroma is of caramel malt, floral hops and ripe fruit. Medium, tangy body. Earthy hops, and caramel malt balanced on the palate. Long, bitter, dry finish. The best Shiner brew IMO.
