This small batch brew is the third in our Limited Edition Brewer’s Pride Craft Brew Series. A combination of Citra and US Golding hops gives this refreshing lager its citrus flavor and floral aroma. The brew’s signature tartness comes from the fruit of the prickly pear, a cactus native to our brewery’s landscape that’s hearty, rugged and unmistakably unique - qualities we surely appreciate. Prosit!

Bottle from Haggen. Medium copper in color upon pouring. Nose seems fairly tart with a bit of candy-like sweetness mixed in. Body is thin and highly carbonated. Tastes like a cheap fruit beer of some sort. Drinkable, but doesn’t taste like a quality brew.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Big fruity aroma, floral, sweet, artificial sweetener character. Footbalmed.

Odd fruit taste that over powers the beer flavor. Dry feel not the best summer ale.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained off white head, with slight lacing, over a clear dark amber (SRM 9) body.......nose is fruity, with pear, grape candy notes, light malts, minimal hops, balance to the additive.....taste is moderately sweet with pear, light candy notes, light toasted malts, light orange/lemon, no hop bitterness, balance to the additives......mouth feel, light almost watery, no alcohol, moderate carbonation. This is a very light, quite simple beer. It is crisp, refreshing, but not quite quenching because of the sweetness. This beer could use a bit of Lactobacilli to increase acid to balance the sweetness. This would make it more quenching. BJCP 7/3/12/4/6

355ml twist off. Pours liek kool aid and smells like kool aid. It pretty much tastes like kool aid too with some light beer thrown in. Its best quality is that it never gets over the top with all this but its close.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured dark amber with a small white head, no real lacing. Aroma of fruit and malts. Taste is sweet and fruity but with a slight tartness to it. Crisp and refreshing; not bad for hot summer days.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours light copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is like flower jam. Near med body. Flavor is quite floral. There’s a bit of maybe citrus tart in the finish. Rather dry. Totally weird.

On tap at Bootleggers. Pours a clear copper gold with medium creamy off white head thst lasts. The aroma is apple candy, wheat, cereal. Thin mouth, light pear, grain, wheat, metallic finish, not much going on with this one.

Pours a clear amber body, not quite as dark as Shiner Bock. Head is 1/5th an inch and off white. Head retention was barely average and so was lacing. First smell is definitely fruity, but more apricot than prickly pear. Sweet caramel/toffee malt is also present. No hops or alcohol detected. Funky yeast aroma fades in and out. Taste is of sweet, slightly tart fruit. Like in the nose, I pick up more apricot flavor than prickly pear. Tastes similar to Magic Hat #9 but not as good. Malt is sweet and imparts a touch of caramel to beer. Very light tropical hops are detected, alcohol is very light. Mouthfeel is a little heavier than most fruit beers but well carbonated. Head died pretty fast unfortunately. Overall, this beer was interesting and unique but not really great in any facet. Fell kinda flat in taste and mouthfeel but for what its worth its a decent summer beer.
