This small batch brew is the third in our Limited Edition Brewer’s Pride Craft Brew Series. A combination of Citra and US Golding hops gives this refreshing lager its citrus flavor and floral aroma. The brew’s signature tartness comes from the fruit of the prickly pear, a cactus native to our brewery’s landscape that’s hearty, rugged and unmistakably unique - qualities we surely appreciate. Prosit!

More fruity than I imagined. Aroma of raspberry and watermelon. Light amber color and watery palate. Fruity flavors with more berry and melon. Maybe some hints of tea. OK I guess.

Shared 12 oz. bottle poured to snifters, showing a clear, amber color, with a modest layer of off white head foam, and spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was a touch of sweetness, with notes as cherry and melon, and an odd hint that was ripe, earthy, and didn’t seem to meld well. Light bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste was as light cherry juice, with soft bitterness, a bit of tartness, and subtle dryness. Interestingly okay.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. This beer has a very unique fruit flavor that I found very enjoyable. The beer is a clear amber/copper color with a small white head. The beer is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A unique beer experience that I would recommend for anyone who is into fruit beers.

Bottle: It poured pinkish with a small white head. The aroma was fruity and the flavor was sweet pear like but the taste was tart.

Light amber pour with thin head. Fruity flavor with little aftertaste a good change of pace.

Kool-aid like aroma, sweet and fruity, but i like kool-aid so...Light brown body with a touch of bronze, the head is a thin ring that clings to the wal of the glass. Flavor has a bit of fruitiness up front with with toasted malts on the middle and finish

12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. My wife loved it but I found it ran to the likes of a sweet and sour Chinese taste. I’ll avoid the next one.

Poured from twist-off 12oz brown glass bottle into a tulip glass, a pinkish amber colour with weak white foam. Unimpressive aromas and flavours, not outright offensive but not very good either. Mushy malt, obviously mass-produced and seemingly oxidized, despite being a very fresh release. I’m not sure what prickly pear tastes like, but this beer had an odd, non-descript, vaguely apricot- or citrus-like essence, again not great. Medium body and carbonation, some residual sticky sweetness in aftertaste. Sometimes I really enjoy Shiner’s special releases but this was a missed opportunity.

Can. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. A big sweet sticky nose. Big citrus, dry dusty base, sweet sugary...I guess prickly pear. Just tastes so sweet. Like splenda.
