This small batch brew is the third in our Limited Edition Brewer’s Pride Craft Brew Series. A combination of Citra and US Golding hops gives this refreshing lager its citrus flavor and floral aroma. The brew’s signature tartness comes from the fruit of the prickly pear, a cactus native to our brewery’s landscape that’s hearty, rugged and unmistakably unique - qualities we surely appreciate. Prosit!

Dark brown very clear pour. Little head and no lacing. Citrusy and malty aroma. The prickly pear flavor is very interesting and not over powering. German style malt backbone. Not bad. ---Rated via iPhone

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured a dark bronze color with a medium sized foamy white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy with a strong fruity presence. The flavor was sweet with pear, apple and artificial sugar. Long finish. Medium body. Meh.

Deep reddish amber beer with a medium foamy light tan head that has good retention and lacing. Nose of strawberry taffy, candied citrus, and sweet perfume. Flavor is less sweet than the aroma, but still quite sweet, with an unusual fruity flavor that dominates and a sugary aftertaste without much bitterness to counterbalance. What is a novelty initially quickly becomes cloying. Worth a taste, but not something I’d drink again.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of peach schnapps. Orange gold with bit of head. Tasting canned pear syrup, and that citrus cactus thing. Actually a pretty decent brew.

actually gave above average marks for app and aroma - definitely some nice pear in aroma - was hoping this would be a good summer beer but it wasn’t really refreshing - different beer, not bad

Pours a clear coppery orange with a thin white ring. Very pleasant fruity aroma of sweet berries. Thin body with light carbonation. Taste is crisp, clean, and smooth with a refreshing berry fruit flavor. The taste isn’t imitation or flowery. Not overly sweet. Fairly simple but very enjoyable.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2016 Dammit Shiner, stop this. I know what you guys are doing with trying to market to the macro crowd with an interesting beer but it just does not work. Gold color, apple sort of taste, not appalling but tastes artificial and contrived. Like the equivalent of a Big Mac.... a terrible hamburger but a tasty enough food item to eat.

Pours another fizzy head, but it does stick around longer than the soda pop heads of the other two beers. The smell shows some fruit sweetness. The smell has a fruity note, almost like a perfume, in fact. The taste brings in that perfumey fruit with a very slight tartness on the back of the throat. This may go well as a dessert beer; although most such beers are pretty strong, this 4.9% abv brew would suit a lighter palate.

Quite dark Amber, clear. Light white head. Smelled very sweet, immediately on opening the can from several feet. Strong notes of pear. Quite sweet, some very light bitter grassy notes. Kind of artificial smelling. Clean mouthfeel, light body. Good amount of carbonation. Refreshing.

It’s not really my style, but it is super hot outside, I just took the dog on a bike ride, and I’m digging this. Higher score than expected.
