This small batch brew is the third in our Limited Edition Brewer’s Pride Craft Brew Series. A combination of Citra and US Golding hops gives this refreshing lager its citrus flavor and floral aroma. The brew’s signature tartness comes from the fruit of the prickly pear, a cactus native to our brewery’s landscape that’s hearty, rugged and unmistakably unique - qualities we surely appreciate. Prosit!

Prickly Pear? Is it a cactus? If so this is no tequila beer! It is sweet and sour and unique. Aroma is almost sweet. Taste is almost tart. with just a little bit of hops. It tastes good cold or at room temperature. For those that ever tried a lambic and hated it, you might like this taste! It is a three season beer (spring, summer, fall). Shiner did a nice job on this one! Prosit!

This is a strange beer if there ever was one. Shiner Prickly Pear is exactly as it describes. A prickly pear beer. The thing is that it tastes like an Italian soda and doesn't taste of beer at all. It's like an Italian Soda and sparkling cider had an alcoholic prickly pear baby. Is it good? Yea. It's interesting. But it's absolutely summer only and you need to know what you're getting yourself into! - pixels sent via Beer Buddy on iOS

Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of bread, prickly pear and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, prickly pear and light citrus with a crisp dry lingering fruity finish.

12 oz. bottle served in my Shiner shaker- poured a transparent darkened goldenrod color, 1 finger foamy off white head formed but just didn’t lace. Aroma of pear as soon as the bottletop came off, with some apple, grass, and grain all trying to make themselves known in the background. Hits the mouth with lt. body, malt is obviously going to be weak, perfume like pear in the middle that isn’t over forceful, finish is moderately sweet yet refreshing. Good stuff maynard!

This is an interesting fruity beer. It has plenty of beer character and aroma of alcohol with a candy fruit character that is sweet enough and finishes a bit tart and refreshing. a little slick body and some malt comes and dryness in near the end. i like this. golden with hints of orange and an off white head.

Poured a dark urine colour with minimal head. Nose was of tart fruit and had me a bit worried, but the flavours are pretty "non-tart" Started a bit sweet and also had me worried, but the sweetness softness quickly.

Central Market bottle for BYOB at Babe’s Arlington. This was part of a "family pack" and listed as the brewer’s special. Drank from the bottle. Really pretty nice overall. Sweet citrus notes, slightly tart but definitely refreshing. Well done and I’d buy it again.

The aroma is dominated by prickly pear and in the background malts and mild sweetness. The flavor is prickly pear, a hint of berries, malts, mild sweetness and a tart finish. A pretty good fruit beer, with none of the artificial or chemical/nasty tasting characteristics typical for the worst in the style.

Transparent copper color in the glass with a white head. Tart berry aroma. Pleasant balance on the palate, not overly sweet. Has a subtle hop backing towards the end.
