UPDATED: AUG 3, 2011 Pours a clear gold with a quickly dissipating head. Aromas of sweet citrus and ginger. Tastes first of the ginger which fades into grapefruit. Overall a good warm summer beer.

Bottle sample at KFOA. Poured clear dark golden color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate grapefruit and spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium spice and citrus sweet flavor with a medium spice sweet finish of moderated duration. Refreshing complex beer.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a clear copper color with a faint, short lived, white head. No lacing. Very little carbonation. Aroma is light grapefruit. Flavor is very light grapefruit. Light bodied. I think Shiner was on the right track. Just needs more of everything. Worth a try.

[Bottle] Pours an average golden color with a fizzy and quickly receding white head. Sweet citrus and fruit juice in the nose. Slight oxidation is evident as well. The taste is of sour grapefruit, jolly ranchers and sweet ginger. Light in body. A bit watery and one dimensional. I appreciate this beer for not being overly cloying like I expected. It is more akin to a wine cooler though.

12oz twist off bottle. Pours clear golden with little head from a vigorous pour, but that disappears quickly and it really looks like a cider in my glass now. Grapefruit forward, mostly skin or zest, not really artificial or too sweet, behind the grapefruit is subtle yet present ginger. Some malt in there, but you really have to dig deep. Mouth feel is light and decent amount of carbonation...more that I was expecting given what it looks like. Light, crisp and almost zesty. Light grapefruit, not too sweet but it does have a similar taste to squirt, hint of tartness past that, makes way to subtle ginger, hint of white dough on the finish with a lightly tart crisp lingering finish. Super easy to drink and would be really refreshing on a 80+ degree day after mowing the lawn.

Golden. Smells of citrus. Dry flavor up front with hints of grapefruit and ginger in the finish. Good summer beer.

Bottle. Poured a clear yellow color with no head. Aroma was corn and malts. Not a lot to this beer. Hint of citrus and ginger. Very thin and watery. Very mild grapefruit in the finish. Very poor beer. Drinkable on a hot summer day.

Poured into a shaker glass before realizing there wasn’t much to be gained in aroma, so I drank it from the bottle, and it’s just as good. Poured crystal clear, maybe one of the clearest I’ve seen. No head, and no lacing on glass. Aroma is supposed to have grapefruit, but I can barely get anything citrusy, which the hop varieties used should really be coming through. The ginger stands out in this one big time. Ginger aroma and flavour, I even burped up ginger. Reminds me of Dog Fish Head’s ginger beers. Overall it is what it’s supposed to be, light and refreshing. I would have liked them to hit the citrus a lot harder, and calmed the ginger.

Clear, pale orange with no head. Aroma of bread, ginger, grapefruit and Sprite. Taste is a bit watery, but it’s malty with a hint of ginger and some grapefruit tartness. Thin body, no finish to speak of. A decent and drinkable ber

Draft: Lots of ginger on the nose with significant amounts of whole grapefruit. CLear amber, headless, awfully pale for a red. Quite dry, stale malt and tons of ginger, not hot. Not what I expected, but a drinkable ginger beer.
