UPDATED: JUL 31, 2014 Can. Stamped on the bottom in a smudged sort of way, I think it says "07/17/14." Best by or born on, I donít know. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice hazy golden amber to brown color with a one finger white foamy and bubbly head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds. The lacing was bubbly and stuck nicely around the glass. The smell had a really nice bittersweet grapefruit backed up by a light ginger. The taste was sweet and ginger spicy leaving a light grapefruit aftertaste and a crisp dry all citrus like finish. On the palate, this one sat very light and came across very sessionable. The carbonation was there but still obscure enough to not be overly done. Overall, ah, this will make up for missing Baxterís Summer Swelter from my Maine days. For the most part, I like this for me but the more I drink it, the more itís just alcoholic flavored soda that tastes really good.

This one poured a light pinkish yellow with a white head. Aroma was of pale malt, and light fruit. Flavor similar. Bland and boring.

Can with Ray. Pours fairly clean deep gold. Bubbly off white head that dissapates. Aroma is dominated by grapefruit juice with hints or carmalized ginger. Taste is ginger ale, citrus on the finish. Mild bitterness. Not that bad. I suppose Iíd prefer this to a bud light lime at least

12oz Bottle found at the back of my son in laws fridge and drank on his balcony on 7th July 2014. I am not a beer and ginger man, but I wanted íthe tickí. Mini haze to the pour, no head but a white collar was visible around the glass. Ginger and citrus flavours from the start: it does what is says on the label. Fine if you are into ginger, but this wasnít for me. Scored objectively.

Clear darker amber. Fizzy head. Just get all ginger. Crisp fizzy body. No balance, too much ginger that it drowned out anything else. Didnít really care for this one.

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a clear light caramel brown with no head what to speak of, ugly looking beer, aroma is of slight fruit but mainly nothing, the flavor is very light fruit with a thin finish of malt and metal, ugh.

Appearance is crystal clear golden with a slight red tint and a non existent foam cap. Aroma is strong Munich malt and ginger, with a hint of grapefruit. Combined together it somehow resembles the aroma of a scotch ale. Taste is Munich malt with a strong grapefruit taste and acidity. Slight hint of ginger in the swallow. Mouthfeel is extremely low and thin with a low to moderate carbonation. Finishes very dry and tart from the grapefruit

Pours a light colored amber without much of a head. Aromas of grapefruit juice (fruity upfront), ginger and slight grass. Flavors of artificial grapefruit juice, ginger and some slight floral. Lightly sweet and lightly bitter (albeit from the grapefruit instead of hops). Grapefruit and beer just donít mix in my opinion/flavor.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker glass. Clear deep golden color with a minimal head. Malty nose, with faint citrus and spice notes and floral hops. Plain caramel malt flavor, some citrus juice, biscuits, some harsh notes from the ginger and low bitterness. Light-med body, a bit strange, not very summery. So so.

I would have figured this would be one of those macro fruit beers thatís just laden w/ artificial flavor but thankfully this is not. It is actually quite dry and refreshing, much closer to a run of the mill cheap beer than it is to, say, Leinenkugel Summer Shandy--although fruit does play a starring role in this. It is clear, slightly pink hued and headless. The nose is very mild, bland actually, w/ the chief component being bread dough and maybe a very vague suggestion of fruit. Tasted though, the tartness of the grapefruit seems to play off the slight sweetness in much the way bittering hops generally would. Along w/ the vigorous carbonation, it helps keep things crisp. It finishes dry and clean w/ a lingering bit of earthy spice from the ginger. I am not quite sure how to rate this, honestly. It is pretty bland but it uses unusual ingredients in a creative and non-ridiculous manner, which is frankly more than I could say for most craft breweries that could would pull such a stunt. Overall, Iíd say they managed to put goofy ingredients in a standard pale lager and managed to make it no worse, which is somehow both impressive and obviously a stupid thing to do. This is a very average beer executed from ingredients that would generally make for a below average beer. I think most beer enthusiasts will not like it as much as I do and I donít like it all that much.
