Bottle. It’s a clear, golden colored beer with a minimal sized off-white head. Lots of ginger on the nose, and some citrus. Not much else going on due to the amount of ginger. There’s some malty notes in the flavor, caramel and bread, with ginger, citrus and a little bitterness. Medium body, nice carbonation level, and mostly dry on the palate. Some bitterness and faint notes of metal in the ginger dominated finish. Way too much ginger I think, why do so many breweries fail to make a subtle ginger flavored beer? Of course, because they don’t want to, but still. 130829

Light amber color with a white head. Smells slightly citrusy, maybe some of the grapefruit coming though, but the ginger is much more prominent. Quite light overall. The flavor is quite heavy on the ginger, perhaps too much. A little bit of citrus, too. Quite refreshing, actually. Light body with medium carbonation.

Bottle sample at KFOA. Poured clear dark golden color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate grapefruit and spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium spice and citrus sweet flavor with a medium spice sweet finish of moderated duration. Refreshing complex beer.

Bottle… Clear amber ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The bouquet is reminiscent of Vernors ginger soda or Jamaican ginger beer. Light-bodied and watery with nearly expired carbonation. The flavor is thin, thin, thin - not much ginger or anything else, with the exception of some light acidity. Finishes watery and tangy. Why bother, Shiner? Why even bother? Bottle courtesy of dosbeerigos! Why bother, Phil? Why even bother?

Bottle @ home. Clear, a bit darkish orange appearance with a disappearing, off-white head. Ginger, orange dental fluid, spicy, tropical fruity, off putting aroma. Rich ginger, grapefruit, Squirt soda, spicy, tart fruity flavor. Shitty.
