Aroma is sweet grapefruit with a hint of ginger. Pours lightish red with no head whatsoever, carbonation was more like a soda. Tastes is grapefruit with notes of ginger. It's not bad but a little too sweet for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a refreshing and well balanced summer beer. Good lawnmower thirst quencher. Mild lager backbone with a pleasant citrus/bitterness from clearly present grapefruit and a more subtle ginger finish.

12oz bottle, from Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield. Labeled 4.01%. Clear orange color. Minimal white head.. Pretty much no lace sticks, the color is nice, though.. Light to medium body. Kind of lighter, lightly crisp, lighter carbonation. Just a very light macro - roughness to the texture. Kind of sweet juicy red grapefruit citrus aroma works well with the lightly earthy ginger flavor. Not as assertive as you’d expect from your typical hoppy grapefruit flavor profile, but still definite grapefruit. Lightly tart, moderate sweet taste. Not a half bad fruit beer. I dig the ginger addition.

Gold pour with white head and no lace. Aroma is so ginger. Ginger start sour maltiness and a sour bitter finish. Light bodied and fizzy. Wow a ginger beer!

Tap at the Ginger Man, Houston, 21/05/13. Clear golden with subtle reddish hues when held away from the light, no head. Nose is stem ginger, sugar, caramel, herbal notes. Taste comprises ginger, fruits, light sugars, herbs. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sweet finish with light spice. Sub par fayre, not quite ’meh’ tho’.

Orange clear pour from draft at sweet baby rays. Spicy. I got the wrong beer. Cancel this

12 oz bottle from The Beerhive in Pittsburgh. Clean, crisp, very refreshing. Certainly deserves a higher rating than the current average.

Bottle. Strong ginger aroma. Clear copper with a small, immediately dissipating to nothing, head. Strong peppery ginger flavor, which overpowers everything else. I love ginger and grapefruit, and really wanted to like this one, but alas, it just didn’t work. Light body and carbonation.

Pours amber. Very carbonated but no head. Nose is heavy of ginger with some citrus and grapefruit in the background. Light in body, ginger is a bit potent. The finish is crisp and refreshing with a light grapefruit flavor. I’d drink another.

Clear deep gold with a bubbly white head that fades quickly to a ring. Spicy ginger, herbs, light fruit tartness on the aroma. Mostly herbal flavor and ginger throughout. Thin crisp body with no real texture. Farts.

Shiner Ruby Redbird has a thick, white head that doesn’t last long and leaves behind no lacing. The appearance is clear old gold, with very few streaming bubbles. Aroma is of sharp, tart grapefruit zest and some sweet white bread, with a ginger background. Taste is of red grapefruit, citrus sweetness, a touch of ginger, and tap water. Mouthfeel is between light and medium, and Shiner Ruby Redbird finishes dry, refreshing, easy-drinking, and sweet. Overall, this is a good fruit beer. RJT
