I really enjoyed this brew. That being said, I also really like fruit/wheat beers as well. Very nice complex character of grapefruit and ginger with this one.Not overly sweet either. So good on a hot summer day. This was my go to beer for summer 2011. Also, very reasonably priced at around 5 to 6 dollars for a sixer where I’m from. Great brew, I’ll definitely buy it again next summer.

Tasty citrus brew sold seasonally. Not too hard to find compared to most other Shiner brews. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Orange hued cloudy brew, the head disappeared totally to a placid surface with a faint amount of carbonation coming up the glass. Smells a lot better than it looks. Sweet tangerine and yes grapefruit smells highlight this fruity aroma with honey. Hops are not part of the aroma profile, its extraordinarily fruity. The taste has the bitter or sourness of grapefruit instead of the sweetness of other popular citrus . There is a spice coming out beside the grapefruit likely the ginger listed on the label; whatever it is, it works excellently. With the light quenching palate this is one of the most interesting, offbeat and great tasting summer lagers I’ve encountered.

Pours a decent tea amber with a nose of Ruby Red, tea, light peach, and a smidgen of mango-infused ginger. So far, so good. Flavor is wonderfully subtle yet noticeable Ruby Red lemon lime ginger ale. It’s that simple. Tingly mouthfeel. By golly, Texas has a GOOD summer brew.

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2011 god help me, i love this beer!!!!! .. Pours a light ruby tan, low foam .. . light aroma of ginger, grapefruit (weird right?) .. . taste is light grapefruit, and ginger, but i don’t like ginger.. what the hell is going on?? this is fantastic!! all i can do is picture cases of this, stacked-chilled and by a pool! .. all i can say is that the new brewmaster at Spoetzl is really starting to stamp his name on what i thought was a shit brewery- could this be my turning point with Shiner... I will be buying more of this... . Someone somewhere wants me crazy

Kind of surprised by the negative reviews on this one. Yes its a summer beer and yes its a fruit beer catering to the masses. But this a good one. A little thin in body to my liking with a high drinkability, this one is a thirst quencher. Citrus, slightly toasted malt, and ginger in the nose. Well balanced and an all around good beer.

Light and aromatic with strong citrus notes and a crisp finish with a touch of ginger. Refreshing on a hot day, a real summer winner from the folks in Shiner T.X.!

Bottle, ice cold. Don't believe the naysayers, great beer for what it is meant for. Ice cold brew for after mowing the lawn or floating in the pool on sweltering summer days. Good amount of grapefruit and the ginger is just at the very end. Love it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
