3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Take off your beer pocket protector and hatred of all things light and try to enjoy this one on a hot day or after a long hike. This beer is light and citrusy. It is clean on the palate and as stated is now my go to beer post a hike (or during). This beer will not win any awards, this beer will turn off hardcore beer nerds, but it’s fun and imminently drinkable. The flavor is reminiscent of fresca and the low alcohol content (4%) means its sessionable. A perfect beer for summer on a lake in Texas, which is probably why they made it.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Orange with copper highlights under a fizzy seltzer-esque head that fades into nothing. No foam, no lace, no collar – nothing. Swirls with nothing.
Sweet rolls and Hawaiian rolls. Sweet ruby red grapefruit juice followed by generic citric esters in the back. Candied lemon and grapefruit cheweable candies. More sweet than tart.
Prickly spritzy mouthfeel makes the top of my tongue tingle. Watery pink lemonade and watery ruby red grapefruit juice. Very quick and miniscule finish of generic citric rind bitterness. Generic white crackers underneath.
Nothing special. It’s supposed to be brewed with some kind of Texas Rio Red Grapefruit Juice and ginger but unfortunately the grapefruit is watery and the ginger is non-existent. Moving on.

0.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Bottle. Dull umber hue, ginger ale soda aroma, taste, sweetness. No evidence of grapefruit, let alone the reputed Cascade hops. Drain pour.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Got real excited for this, I love grapefruit raddlers, maybe this can be my summer 2013 beer?!
Pours a copper ale with brilliant clarity and no foam. Smells like sugar, some grapefruit (way too sweet), some pear and a little english malt. Pretty unimpressed so far. Tastes like a hot dog with some artificial sweetener and a little grapefruit - horrible. Thin with moderate carb and an off dry finish. That is a shitty beer.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle pour of a light amber with I head but a ton of champaign bubbles. Aroma of a grapefruit soda with all the carbonation still bubbling up that dissipates quickly. Taste of that same light grapefruit with a light sweet malt but no real citrus hops to speak of. Feels like a sparkling water, which is kind of fun, but there is no finish taste to speak of. A beer that disappears from my mind as quickly as it's taste did

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a light amber with pink undertones. Very little head. The smells are of grains and grapefruit, but not like the grapefruit you sometimes get in an IPA. The taste starts with a citric grapefruit flavor backed by a strong grain flavor. No hops to speak of. Mouth feel is thin/light with a medium amount of carbonation. Definitely not a beer I will buy again and honestly something I might pass on so I can drink one of those "Macro American Lagers". That said I do know people that like this beer. Thank goodness for different tastes.

T: Grapefruit juice in water.
P: Light body, nice carbonation, thin and watery.
O: As a Texas Ex, I cut my teeth on Shiner products, but once was PLENTY for this grapefruit beer.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
Nice amber color, no head. Weird. Looks like iced tea. Aroma is clearly ginger and candy, but it’s not overpowering. Sublte. Taste is clean and refreshing. Smooth drinking and clean palate.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz can. Filtered orange body, thin soda head. Ginger, grapefruit aroma, more ginger than I would have guessed. Light to medium bodied, easy on the palate, refreshing. Leans heavily into the flavoring, but has some faint beer characteristics still. OK, not a bad beverage, but not a great beer.
