Pours a very dark amber and has a very little head. It’s got a hint of skunkiness that comes with a lot of lagers, but it’s OK. Not a lot of flavors to it.

Bottle. Pours an average tea brown with Galveston Gulf water sea foam (off white, slightly brown) on top. Aroma is vegetable and earthy leaves. Flavor is malted biscuit leaves. Average mouthfeel. Not bad, I guess, but oner is enough until I move out of state and become homesick.

A silky smooth rye lager. Pours a dark brown with a light tan head. Mild roastiness in the aroma. A little roastiness and distinct rye in the flavor profile with a slightly acidic finish. My favorite that I have had from Shiner. Innovative, and well implemented. Aroma: bread, roasty Appearance: brown, slightly sparkling, minimal head, Taste: lightly bitter, lightly sour Palate: medium body, slick feel, average carbonation, acidic finish

Clear dark amber pour with ring of offwhite head and small amount of spotty lacing. Sweet caramel syrup nose. Flavor adds a toastiness to the caramel. Still very sweet, but not overly so. Verging on cloying. Finish has a semi-burnt quality.

Dark, clear, brownish amber, with a small off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and rye toast. Taste is weak toast and cocoa with some rye spice. Light-medium bodied and a touch fizzy. Decent, but as is typical from Shiner, its thin throughout.

Pours a very gorgeous clear brown copper. It almost looks like a cognac or very dark bourbon in the glass. Sweet aroma of fresh toasted rye bread, some honey and spice. Decent flavor profile of toasted malt, followed by a slightly burnt toast bitter aftertaste. Overall, more tasty and complex than I expected out of Shiner. I wonder what this would taste like if they used ale yeast.

Bottle thanks to my brother. The body was deep brown with a tan head. A roch doughy nose with some light apples. The taste is light milk chocolate and apple core. There is also some hay. Nice.

Rye bread smell really comes through; Deep clear copper brown color with a thick 1 finger head; Enjoyable taste and a little on the sweet side; hints of caramel, chocolate; the more I drank, the more I liked it.

Color: Cherry brown color Nose: floral hoppy flavor with fresh rye bread Mouthfeel: thick and smooth with a hint of velvet texture Taste: rye bread flavor on the front palate, hint of bread with a floral hoppy flavor on the mid-palate, floral earthiness with a hint of musty-ness on the finish Comments: very tasty flavors and nicely layered, isn’t the most complex or best articulation of flavors but still enjoyable, worth trying at least once but it probably won’t be everyone’s favorite due to the strong rye flavors and musty finish
