Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Poured a light yellow with sparse lacing from an average white head. Average malty smell with bare hops. Smelled of hay and grass. Very light on the palate with average carbonation. Had a metallic finish. Flavor was weak and didn't linger. Kind of tasted minerals. This beer wasn't very good, but it's the first light beer I have rated so I don't really know where it stands yet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 12oz. As Shiner Light Blonde. And yes, it is a light blond beer, almost pale yellow, clear, and with a minimal sized white head. The aroma is rather weak, some pale malts, yellow apples and a hint of spent grains and a very faint touch of citrus show up. It’s very thin on the palate, with a soft carbonation and some hints of bitterness. Not much flavor either, just a little fruityness and some pale malts. Short finish. Well, it doesn’t meet much resistance going down the throath, but it doesn’t taste much either, and is one hell of a boring beer. 130829

12oz bottle pours light yellow with white head and decent lacing. Nose is corny cardboard; yes! Flavor adds grain. Lightly sweet. Watery. Burpy (homemade pulled BBQ and zatarains). Inoffensive.

Clean and crisp but without definitive character. Mild grassy aromas. Pale golden with a large white fizz. Balanced. Light bodied with a quick bland finish.

Looks like any other light lager. Has a slightly earthy/vegetable smell. Taste is pretty typical of the style with spring water and cereal grains with a slightly sweet finish. There is a strong aftertaste of minerals or chemicals. Honestly, I would rather just have a Miller Light.

Has the look of a chardonney. Aroma of some malts and sweet fruits. Taste includes some malts, sugar, and some bitterness at the end.

Not a lot to look at, kinda light tan and fizzy with a one finger head and not much lace. Aroma is a bit of grains and sweet malts. Flavor is a little grainy, a little sweet, with a bit of maltiness and not much in the way of hops. Very light bodied and fizzy. It’s really not much different from your typical light American lager.

Very light. Had this labeled as Blond Light. Sold as a low calorie brew; not much flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shiner Light Blonde has a medium, stark-white head, a clear, light-straw color, with lots of streaming bubbles and almost no lacing. The aroma is of musty, sweet & sour grain, with a little spice noticed in the sniff. The flavor is of sweet, musty grain, paper, sourness, and grass. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Shiner Light Blonde finishes dry and crisp. Overall, this is a substandard beer, even in the light class. Not very good at all. RJT
