COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Spring has sprung at the little brewery in Shiner, TX (pop. 2,070). And with it, our newest brew, Shiner Dortmunder-Style Spring Ale. The Old World classic pours deep gold in color, with a white head and smooth flavor. Its medium hop bitterness and hints of grain, honey and floral hops will refresh you like a sun-drenched nap on a lush green lawn.

This beer is a bit confusing. it’s a Dortmunder style Seasonal Ale? Otherwise this is a very nice beer. Yeasty with nice malt flavor. Not world class, but definitely a good brew. Shiner seems to be doing great things lately.

Bottle. Clear gold in color with a medium head. Aroma is just like a traditional American lager. Taste is well balanced, just not very good. TNT.

The body has a beautiful rich golden color with great clarity. There is a nice level of active carbonation streaming up to the head which I like see as it gives some life to a beer. This also helps support the tall white head. In the nose I pick up light aroma with faint grain notes and pale malt with hints of light leafy hops. On the tongue there is bright grainy flavor with a touch of the hops leafy spice. The finish is very clean, crisp and fresh. Its medium body and lively carbonation make for an easy drinking refreshing beer.

Rated on 7-30-2010 (Bottle purchased at Siciliano’s Specialty Market in Grand Rapids, MI) This beer has a small, smooth white head with a short retention, transparent gold body, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is malty, crisp, floral hops, and earthy. The taste is malty, hops and crisp. The palate is soft carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This is a so-so beer - not great, not bad. It lacks character and a bit bland tasting.

A - A crystal clear golden body with an active white head that forms a thin cap. S - Sweet cereal grain, fruity undertones-mostly apples, subtle grassiness. T - Sweet malt, honey, earthy grain, grassy hops, apples, finishes bitter with a grainy bite. M - Moderate carbonation, medium to full bodied. Flavors were earthy and grainy which gave the beer character. Good balance of sweet and bitter. Fuller body than I expected. Pretty good. Serving type: bottle 02-19-2012

Bottle. Good aroma. To pour, small head, Pale color. Good slight hoppy taste. Hints of floral flavor. Good for every day, not a bang with flavor though. If try it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
