Bottle. Dark amber colored body with a lightly yellowish khaki head. The nose is loaded with grapefruit and musk. There is also some wood. The taste is fairly woody with some grapefruit notes. There is also some bread crust and toast. A decent APA.

3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Starts really good but falls flat at the end. Good smell and initially has a sweet malty taste that turns into a slightly bland bitterness.

Pours gold into a shaker. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Sour earth aromas. Thick with sour malt and toasted nuts front to back. Blech.

You could do a lot worse than Shinerís pale ale we have here. It is too thin for the style; it has a problematic hop and grain bill, but it does work as an easy, summer sipper. I donít agree with the Munich malt, but they went for it and I think it doesnít belong. So... decent, but canít recommend. 12oz pour.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Decent APA from Shiners! Almost, but not quite, IPA which should appeal to the folks not really "hopheads" or those that do not like accented hops in the taste of beer. It is not too sessionable since the ABV is higher than one might expect from the taste. I remember it being less ABV(?) perhaps with some wheat which I donít sense in this now. But it is a good, kick back in the PM after the lawn is mowed beer.

pours clear medium dark golden orange with a very ncie creamy off-white head, good retention/lacing. spicy toasted maltiness, buttery toffee, caramel, faint fruitiness - clementiens, pepper, some citrus peel, pine, sprucey soap - irish spring-like *TM, chlorine and other awkward chemincals. light carbonation - slightly foamy, light body - kind of watery, balanced spicy-citrusy finish. weak pale ale.

The aroma has grape/cherry/orange and overall fruity notes. The color is transparent copper color. The taste is where you notice the hops. A pretty good beer, it works for me.

2.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottled - not bad for a Shiner. Nice color and flavor. Has a little bitterness to it - along the lines of an ESB. Aroma is nothing/bad though.

Amber colored. Nose is spicy and fruity. Bitterness bites at the beginning of sip, then slides to mellow sweetness, and finishes bitter. Sweet and toasted grain aromas. Also has hints of pepper and grapefruit.
