TheBeerLover (1013), DC Metro Area, USA Mar 26, 2006 Sampled a pint of this beer at the bar at the Ship Inn in Milford, NJ. Pulled from a beer engine, and served at cellar temperature. Welsh Ale pours to a beautiful, bright, amber color, with a slight white head that fades, and a soft carbonation. The nose on this beer is excellent with aromas of pale malt, and estery fruit. The palate is soft on the tongue with good flavors of pale and sweet malt, paired with nice under tones of estery fruit. This beer finishes with more good malt and fruit up front, and then ends slightly earthy and fruity. Well done, malt accented Welsh Ale. A perfect session beer to enjoy at the bar, as you soak in the wonderful atmosphere of this cozy and inviting brewpub. Would work very well with the classic British pub grub dishes on the Ship Inn menu. swirl (267), collingswood, New Jersey, USA Apr 17, 2005 A nice light amber color that had a nice fruit and pepper aroma. The taste was light and also a little watery with some soapiness. Not a good beer sort of bland. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA Jul 27, 2004 Could use a slightly thicker mouthfeel. Dark brown color, TANg lovely TANG, raisins, coffee, milk chocolate, some toast. This is good stuff. Aftertaste sweet and milky, then increasingly sour. Good low carbonation.
willblake (1942), Long Branch, New Jersey, USA Jul 21, 2004 07.21.04 Tap at brewpub. Boy am I glad I made the long drive to this place today. Clear, ruby brown color supports little head. Aromas are a touch medicinal, molases sweet, roasty. Malty and dry beer, little hop presence aside from dry finish. Burnt caramel notes, some maple in the aftertaste. I like a beefier porter that’s a bit sticky, but this one is still very nice. Another winner. mkobes (2038), somewhere, New Jersey, USA Jul 18, 2004 On tap at Brewpub. Good beer. Dark brown in color and clear. Roasty aroma and chocolate. Roasty flavor with some chocolate undertones. Good beer.
