COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You asked for a hoppy beer and our brewmaster delivered! This "big beer" is medium to heavy bodied with a big herbal and citrus flavor in the hops. Just enough malt balances out the flavor and gives it a nice backbone.

Amber with lots of sediment. Very little aroma. Taste - crackery, caramel malt. Lower hops for an IPA. Grassy and slightly resinous. Avg IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from my parents trip to door county, thanks?? Pours a murky amber/brown with a medium khaki head, lots of gross large pieces of sediment. Aroma of simple caramel and toffee malt. Iím canít believe Iím going to drink this vial looking swill. Taste of bland caramel and toffee malts with a dry paper flavored hop spice. Not as gross tasting as I was expecting, but pretty tasteless and boring.

Tap at brewfest. Orange pour with white head. Smells of hops and sweet malts. Not balanced at all. Bitter finish ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I think it is kind of weak for an IPA. It has a smoky flavor and that is about all it has going for it. I am not a fan of this IPA. I wish it had more citrus flavor.

Draft flight 4/26/00 (Brewpub)-Pours amber. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of hops, grapefruit, and oranges. This medium bodied brew is not bad and pretty tasty.

On tap at Cooperís Corner in Fish Creek. Amber in color with a decent head. Aroma is of caramel, custard, toffee, vanilla and a hint of pine. Taste is of creme brŻlťe, light pine, toffee, woody hops. This definitely seems more like an English IPA than an American IPA. The bitterness is there, but the caramel malts definitely have a front seat to the show. Iím not getting the citrus notes others are getting. I wonder if they change the hops they use based on what they have?

Tap at Shipwrecked. Pretty bad. Off ringwood Engligh yeast gone wrong. I donít know if anyone intentionally makes beer seeking these off flavors. Buttery, rancid off tones. Unimpressive weak hoppage...this beer is a joke...on me.

Pours a dark cloudy amber with a huge frothy light tan head. Nose is hops with some hints of flowers and herbs. Very creamy on the palate, the taste is mostly hops with some light malt and floral notes. Not bitter - a hop headís nectar. Try it with a slice of aged cheddar on crackers.

On tap and dispensed to a pint glass at the brewpub bar showing a slightly hazed, amber color, with a frothy, off white, slightly orange tinged head, and curtainy cling to the lacing. The aroma was smooth malt and expressively citrus as grapefruit & orange. Medium bodied, the flavor added a medium and lingering hop bitterness that was tempered nicely by a good malt base. The finish was crisp and pleasantly dry. I suspect that Rich Z., the current brewmaster, had a larger influence on this recipe than the rest of the beers. A decently drinkable and flavorful version of the style.
