COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dark, full bodied beer, with overtones of coffee and roasted barley, that is slightly sweet, with just enough hops to balance out the full malt flavor.

This pours a thin, dark brown color with little to no carbonation. Aroma is mild with robust caramel tones. The taste is thin, slightly robust and very chalky. Granted this was a old bottle I had laying around so take that at face value but I think it was laying around because I didn’t care for the previous bottles. Much better porter options out in the market place.

Bottle. It poured a dark brown color with a light tan head. The aroma was of roasted coffee, caramel and some chocolate. The taste was similar to the aroma with bitter coffee, some chocolate and caramel malts. Nicely done.

Pours very dark brown to black with not much of a cream colored head that leaves some stringy ropes of lace that look like the Isle of Man flag. Nose involves roasted malt, some dark chocolate, some milk chocolate, a bit of mustiness, some peppery spice, some meatiness. Decently sweet, lightly bitter. Medium to light bodied, creamy yet a bit watery, softer carb, finishing a bit twangy with milk chocolate and dust. Kind of a weak brew, but my first from Door County, WI, which is pretty cool.

Got this beer from a good friend. Got it at the brewery. So I think this is as fresh as it can be. Malty taste, hints of chocolate and coffee. Black as night. Tan flothy head stays a while. A very good beer.

Bottle. It poured a translucent brown with a beige head. The aroma was roasted malt and coffee. The flavor was the same with hints of cocoa, roasted nuts and some star anise. The taste was a balance between bitter upfront and sweetness on the end.

[Bottle] Darker brown color with a fizzy beige head on top. Looks a lot like cola. Aromas of nut, weak coffee, cocoa and star anise. Flavors of roasted malts, caramel, grain husks, earthy hops, cocoa, watered down coffee and light spice. Dry finish. Rather thin. Tasting notes from 8/2014.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and light coffee. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and light earthiness with a smooth dry lingering cocoa finish.

12oz bottle pours a dark brown with amber highlights and a thin khaki head. Fairly light and dry aroma, molasses cocoa, a mild roast and slight coffee. Taste of cocoa, molasses, a light but steady and slightly chalky roast, with pleasant mild bitterness throughout. A pretty nice approachable and drinkable porter.
