2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewpub, pours black with a sweet chocolate and malty nose. Taste is bitter chocolate, porter-esque, a bit watery. Ok beer, maybe the best they had this weekend, but nothing to go out of your way for.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear, very dark brownish red with a thin beige head. Aroma is sweet caramel, chocolate, coffee, grainy malt, buttery roasted nuts and an odd toasty wheat bread note. Flavor is sweet, light roast coffee, chocolate, roasted nuts and a roast note that waits till the finish to show up along with some light metallic notes. Palate is light bodied, slightly creamy on entry turning pretty dry fairly quickly. Not bad, pretty tame for a porter though.

Draft. Ever so slight coffee notes coming from this. Dark brown with slight tan head. Bitter ending. Not really a good porter.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap. I enjoyed this beer. It had a nice rich color and nice matly taste with lots of coffee/chocolate notes to it in the aftertaste. My favorite beer of what they had on tap during my visit.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tastes pretty good, everything you would want in a Porter like drink-ability, re-freshness, and other hyphenated deScriptions.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. Opaque black color with a frothy beige head that fades down to a thin oily layer after a few minutes. Roasty aroma. This is a great Porter. Some vanilla tones, big bold chocolate, but all beneath a smooth, fluffy malt body. Wow, really nails the style. Porter freaks should seek this one out. Bold, almost approaching Stout.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mostly brown pour w/ hints of red, small tan head dissipates quickly. Smells of coffee although kind of watery cheap coffee, some good roasty notes a hint of butter and toffee. Avg pal. Flavor is lightly coffee some light sweetness, much to one dimensional, more coffee and water than beer really, missing most of the depth I’d expect, slightly dry finish, but none of the hops the deScription promised. It’s ok.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2012 Bottle. Pours to a dark brown body with a thin creamy khaki head. The aroma is roasted coffee and milk chocolate. The flavor is roasted coffee and malt with some light milk chocolate. Average palate. The beer is a very drinkable. 6, 3, 6, 3, 12 = 3.0
Tap at the brewery. So, this beer is actually really nice. While on tap it is a really nice roasted coffee that is super easy drinking. It is light, but substantial. It had no flaws that I could detect.
