3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tastes pretty good, everything you would want in a Porter like drink-ability, re-freshness, and other hyphenated descriptions.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. Opaque black color with a frothy beige head that fades down to a thin oily layer after a few minutes. Roasty aroma. This is a great Porter. Some vanilla tones, big bold chocolate, but all beneath a smooth, fluffy malt body. Wow, really nails the style. Porter freaks should seek this one out. Bold, almost approaching Stout.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mostly brown pour w/ hints of red, small tan head dissipates quickly. Smells of coffee although kind of watery cheap coffee, some good roasty notes a hint of butter and toffee. Avg pal. Flavor is lightly coffee some light sweetness, much to one dimensional, more coffee and water than beer really, missing most of the depth I’d expect, slightly dry finish, but none of the hops the description promised. It’s ok.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2012 Bottle. Pours to a dark brown body with a thin creamy khaki head. The aroma is roasted coffee and milk chocolate. The flavor is roasted coffee and malt with some light milk chocolate. Average palate. The beer is a very drinkable. 6, 3, 6, 3, 12 = 3.0
Tap at the brewery. So, this beer is actually really nice. While on tap it is a really nice roasted coffee that is super easy drinking. It is light, but substantial. It had no flaws that I could detect.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice commercial description. Too bad the beer wasn’t what was advertised. I got a very light bodied brew with light flavors overall of roasted malt, very light chocolate, and a little vanilla coffee flavor. Full flavor? No. Full Body? No. Good beer? Actually, it wasn’t too bad. Nice blend of flavors. I just don’t appreciate the description telling me about a completely different beer. Don’t be afraid to sell your product for what it is.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle from the lady in my life: It poured a deep brown body, clear around the edges, with a creamy tan head that devolved into a smallish but sustained bubbly affair. The aroma promised much, with milk chocolate, lightly roasted malts, runny molasses, and coffe grounds, but it turned into a watered down drink. The flavor is roasty with bittersweet chocolate and charred nuts (Ouch!). The finish was a bit dry. Drinkable, but probably won’t be repeated.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle courtesy of my girlfriend’s brother’s trip to the brewery. Pours a rich dark brown, opaque, big coca cola hued head stays moderately large, laces. Aromas are nice chocolate, lighter coffee grounds, a touch of sweet cream nestled between moderate roasted malts. Initial rocks a too thin body, light creamy chocolate, coffee roast, roasted malts of decent flavor, and a bit of a vegetal finish nestled into the sweet and roast balance towards the finish. Lighter fare, touch vegetal and butterscotchy. I had high hopes for this on the aroma, but the beer itself fell short. Cheers.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bottle courtesy of Headbanger) - Color is black with good carbonation and a thin off white head. Aroma is a faint roasted malt scent. Taste is burnt and dry. Starting with a medium body it goes down easy with a smooth fizzy feel. Finish is a deep roasted burnt like taste with a touch of bitterness. After taste is dry with the burnt lingering a bit. Its ok but a bit drier then I like a Porter it be.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap 9/1/08: Pours a semi-transparent dark mahogany with a fully-lacing tan head. Aroma of semi-sweet dark toasty caramel malts with a touch of dark chocolate. Body starts with good fullness and toasty dark caramel maltiness with some chocolatey bittersweetness and hop balance before the smooth finish. A pretty decent porter.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
11.2 oz bottle from Headbanger - thanks! Near black with a big khaki head. Big, lightly bitter baking chocolate nose, a bit herbal. Flavor follows to a T, although a bit weaker than the aroma promised. A bit thin, excellent lace rings. Solid if unspectacular.
